This is a common problem on these plasma TV's. The problem resides inthe high voltage boards known as the X and Y Sustain boards.. You canpurchase them here for a very reasonable price:

The above link is to a Y-SUS board. The X-Sus board is often the 2nd cause of failure and can be found here:

Totest which board is failing, you need to check voltage input to theYSUS board first... Input should be 120V from Power supply, outputshould be above 250V.. Do this test with XSUS disconnected. IF 250+Vexists, then XSUS is damaged. If not, then the YSUS is the faulty part.
I am going to make a guess here , so if i am wrong please do not rate me low . it will hurt me . : my guess is you do not have electronic tools or electronic training ? if not theres not a lot you can do , the light on yellow says when the set checked itself out something is wrong . it will need a board or two .but you need the test equipment to go through the set and find out why . i never guess . if you guess your wrong more than your right and the boards in this set are big bucks rangeing from 80.00 to over 700.00 . so i never guess , and you should not eather . if you have a scope and trvm and know how to use them , great , i can help you troubleshoot . just let me know
no . these tvs are a pain . you need the scope because your testing a few things at one time on a single wire . there a real mess . i was lucky i had a bunch of these given to me to play with to get used to troubleshooting them, even then i spent a year getting good at it .... its that bad . plasma is that tough . i know a guy that just switches boards out and hopes for the fix . AND PARTS! you would think there GOLD PLATED for the cost of them ....... if you got the tv for free , cut your loss get something else . you will spend 400.00 to 1000.00 to fix it

Cactus Bob, you ROCK! At least someone is out there willing to help! Ok, so Cactus, I'm desperate here. My ex-husband left me for a younger woman (and was cheating with her b4 he did so), THEN, he turned off my electricity, cancelled all of my services, etc, etc... you know the type. SO, I finally got Verizon to come out and put in cable and a friend "gave" me this TV until I can afford a new one (in like a YEAR). The cable guys have jerked around with me for 2 weeks, and are FINALLY coming at 8am tomorrow morning. I have to have a TV for them to hook up, or I'm afraid I'll be TV-less forever. Is there ANY way you could walk me through this without a scope and trvm? I am somewhat mechanically inclined...?????????? PLEASSSEEEE
Ok Cactus, thanks anyway. I appreciate the consideration!
