The small seconds hand do not stop because it has nothing to do with chronometer. It is ordinary seconds counter and will move independent of chronometer.Click on my profile (escapement), then click on Tips and Tricks. There you will find link to Tag Heuer watch manuals. To set the timer hand on these models of Pulsar watches, do the following: Looking at the face of the watch, there are two buttons and a crown on the right side. The TOP button is Button "A". - The BOTTOM button is Button "B". There are 3 positions on the crown: IN (#1), FIRST CLICK (#2) & SECOND CLICK (#3). First, pull the crown out to the second 'click' position (#3) ... This is all the way out. (STOP THERE! Pulling harder will harm your watch! Don't try to pull past position #3!) Push and hold Button "A" for two (2) seconds. The dial will sweep around to the 12 O'clock position. You can advance the timer while the crown is in position #3 (second click out) to reset it back to the default position. The manual says that if you pull the crown out to position #3 while the timer is measuring, the hand will reset back to the 12 o'clock position... I haven't tried that, so I can't confirm.
Pull out crown to the first click. Push and hold pushbutton at 2 o'clock till the seconds hand reaches desired position. Push the crown back. You may need to operate pushbutton at 4 o'clock instead of pushbuttton at 2. Try both.
You do not need to return the watch. It has self adjusting features (operated by the owner). Pull out crown to the first click, then push and hold the pushbutton at 2 o'clock to adjust the hand. When done - push crown back in. If it doesn't work, pull out crown to the second click and do as described above.
Check the instruction manual if you have one. Tag-Heuer watches move in 5 second intervals to let you know the battery needs replacing. A neat feature. Now you know that you have a real Tag!
This model is like any other analog watch, only difference is the screw-down crown...turn counter-clockwise until crown pops up...pull out 2 clicks and set time...push in 1 click to set the date, then into case completely...remember to screw down watch back into case...good luck :)
If you have your instruction manual it should tell you how to reset the chrono. i have the Luminox 8352 and it says to pull the crown out to the 3rd position. then press and hold both the start/stop and lap/reset buttons for a couple of seconds. you'll see the second hand rotate, then you can single click the start/stop button to manually move the second hand 1 second, or you can hold it and it will continue move for a longer period until time desired. if you need to adjust the other chrono hands, click the lap/reset button and then you can click the start/stop button again. repeat for the minute/hour chrono hand. when you're finished push the crown back in. it might work even though it's a different model, worth a shot? hope that helps. these are really great watches.
