Re: di-604 cable router
What it means is, when you are to log on to the "Router" so you can configure settings, you must put the word admin in BOTH logon & password boxes. Then one can configure the settings as required.
After your router is connected to ya PC it has an "Address" when you open up your browser and type in the routers address, (often, 192.168.1.1) ... a box will/should then pop up and ask for logon and password... thats where you enter admin & admin then you will be Logged On to the router and your away...

eh, that disc is just bloat ware anyway (you don't need it)
1) connect hard line to your router (that big phone line looking cord goes from port 1,2,3 OR 4 to your computer)
2) open your web browser (IE, chrome, safari, whatever)
3) go to "192.168.1.1"
4)should ask for username and password (use "admin" and "password" for netgears... "admin" and "admin" for cisco linksys)
5) go to your wireless tab
6) choose a name and type in at SSID then click "save settings"
7) maybe same tab or maybe under "wireless security tab" choose WPA WPA2 personal and choose a password and save settings again.
9) now hook everything up normal and connect to your new wireless network!
you need to reset the router usually you need to hold down the reset button for about 30 seconds to fully reset it, also google the make and model of the router and you should be able to get some detailed instructions but a full reset will allow you to enter the routers setup and enter your own password and properly configure it's security features for your needs, best of luck!

the default user name is admin and the password field should be left blank. if that does not work to get back in you will have to reset your router to factory defaults. to do this follow these instructions.
To hard-reset the D-Link Plus DI-514 to Factory Default Settings, please do the following: • Leave the device powered on, do not disconnect the power • Press the reset button and hold (use a paper clip) • Keep the button pressed about 10 seconds • Release the button The DI-514 will then automatically reboot itself.

You do not need an installation CD, just connect a LAN cable from the computer to the wireless router, open your browser and enter the router's configuration URL, this is - http://192.168.0.1
