My son forgot to remove ink pen from pants pocket. After washing, he put it into Kenmore dryer. Result was ink blotches all over dryer inside. We have used nail polish remover on cotton balls and have had some success at removing blotches. What remains is an ink film on the inside. Should I continue using the nail polish remover or is there a better product? Also, what technique is best. should I soak at towel with nail polish removing. Some people seem to think that hair spray should be used.
None of the chemicals you describe should be used. The heat or spark from the motor could cause a explosion.
Put some old laundry material in there and run it multiple loads with no heat it will eventually wear it off.
Try hairspray It works great on removing ink from clothes as well. Spray some on a rag and wipe Alcohol pads work well also!
Hope that helps!

Brand new GE dryer (stacked above washer),FIRST load had a black ink pen in my son's pocket which caused black ink marks all over the inside of the dryer! I did try Windex Multi-Purpose cleaner, soft scrub, and finger nail polish remover (containing acetone if it matters), and a small amount was able to be removed by me. What else can I use that I could easily get, is safe after rinsing off, and won't cost very much $$. I did dry a load of towels after this happened, and I don't see any black ink marks on them like I had in the first load. HELP! Thank You very very much! I rent, so I don't want my landlady to see it until I get it cleaned up. Even though it was not intentional, I still feel super bad. :(
