Hi, with that system you should realy fly. Could it be that you are running VISTA? This O/S is appears to be a lot slower than the trusty old XP. Regards mistyman

Is there a way to replace the **** components in my Samsung 50' 6400 series LED smart TV so it will be a reliable monitor? seems like the only thing that will last on this lemon is the screen!!!!!

Hi Tom

Sorry to hear about your Lemon. I learned about Samdung products awhile back.
I refuse to buy any of their products because of their bad attitude.

The Non Innovators who reverse engineer to get ahead in the market & program devices to work super fast on benchmark tests.

A bit like FolksWagon did with falsifying dynamometer results for EPA readings.
I know all businesses can make mistakes and make poor choices. But, we really shouldn't support companies that blatantly falsify to get better market share.

All electronic devices (inc HD TV's) have problems with Electrolytic Capacitors fizzing out. It's a huge problem.
But I'm sure "some" companies buy underrated parts to insure they don't last too many years.
Go with respected companies like Sony, Panasonic, Hitachi etc.
and check the following before buying.
Warranty period
-(Nice if you can get 5yr like my Mitsubishi Electric Fridge)
User interface - The on screen controls. Ease of Use.
Input Ports - USB, HDMI etc
The video codec's that are supported. eg .avi, .MP4 etc
the more the better. (Look how many codec types VLC support)
Plug a HD drive into the USB. What movies can it support?

Hanging & do not come up

Hi

Try the mention below option to resolve you problem.

1: Click Start > run. Type msconfig. Check Selective Mode and click the "startup" tab. Uncheck everything which is not essential. Leave only antimalware programs (if you change your mind latter you can reactivate those programs). Confirm and reboot. Upon rebooting a message will show up. Please check it and continue. For laptop users: do not uncheck items that clearly relate to the operation of the computer.

2: In Add/Remove programs, in Control Panel, uninstall all unnecessary toolbars such as Yahoo, google and others. Latter on you can download them again.

3: If you have Internet Explorer 7 installed as a windows update, uninstall it in add/remove programs in control panel. This will roll you back to internet explorer 6. Latter on you can download it again as a Windows Update.

4: Go to Task Manager and report processes that seem to be loading the computer. Please ignore Idle Processes.

5: Download HD Tune and under Benchmarking run a complete performance test. Please report Average data transfer for the entire test.

6: Go to Device Manager, expand IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers. Right click the Primary IDE channel and choose to uninstall it. Reboot and let Windows reload the driver. Repeat the procedure with Secondary IDE channel.

7: Following step no. 2 run HD Tune again and report the results as you did in step no. 1.

My HP Pavilion a1120n is running very slow I re formated it a few time over the years. Recently I added more ram and ran great till i clean it with air may , then ran very slow, so I remove some ram then...

Did you replace the hard drive? It is quite possible there is an issue with the drive at that age. YOu could try an application called "SpeedFan" or "HD Tune" and run a S.M.A.R.T test on it. This will help you determine the drive status. You can run a benchmark with "Hd Tune" and determine the speed of the drive. If you want to post your results, I will certainly help out further.

I have a compaq witha samsung hd M/NSP2504C, S/N S09QJ1ULB30333. What are the speed and buffer specifications and which hard drive would you recommend for a compatable replacement or slave.

Hello
Samsung SP2504C is a 250 GB hard disk drive using the new SATA-300 interface, which allows a maximum theoretical transfer rate of 300 MB/s. Its main specs also include an 8 MB buffer, 7,200 rpm rotation speed and support to NCQ (Native Command Queuing). In this review we checked the performance of Samsung SP2504C installed on a motherboard using a regular SATA-150 port and also on a motherboard using the new SATA-300 port.
This very same hard disk drive is also available with a 200 GB capacity, being called SP2004C. Both belong to SpinPoint P120 series from Samsung.
Good LUCK AND DO RATE THE SOLUTION IF HELPS

Jumper setting for slave drive

there is no such master or slave setting when SATA is used.
it is mainly used to tell the motherboard which one is master or slave when connected with IDE cable (PATA).
you don't need to worry about it as you are using a SATA HD.

the boot disk priority can be set in the BIOS
press del or F2 after you press the power button on CPU. you will be put with the BIOS/CMOS setup. go to boot priority and set accordingly, there is also an option to set the default hard disk in case you have more than one HD.

I ran a Belarc Advisor test on my computer today. The score result was just 3.13 & fairly low. The Belarc Advisor performed a security audit of my system using the CIS Level-I benchmark appropriate...

OS means Operating System.

On your machine, disable Windows Firewall as it is known to conflict with Norton's Firewall and leave you disabled.

Also, go to windows.com click on the Continue Button start downloading Windows Defender and install it.

Then rerun your protection score and post back any change.

Belarc is not considered to be the software to own and use for benchmarking your computer's vulnerability.
