Question about Honeywell TH4210D1005 Heater

My Honeywell TH4210D1005 Thermostat will not respond

I recently moved into a new house where we have a Honeywell TH4210D1005. I read the manual and followed the directions on how to reset the system to the default (most energy efficient) 5-2 day program. It's 2:30 PM and it is currently 62 degrees outside - my thermostat says that it is set to 62 degrees, but it is 69 degrees in the house. Why is the actual temp different then the set temp?

Well with 62 outside temp and then maybe a little solar gain and body heat you very well could be 5 degrees warmer then outside

House is freezing....cant reset unit...says cool instead of heat...internal schedule all messed up.....says its friday

For temporary heat while you shop for a new thermostat, take the wire off terminal R and cross it with the wire on terminak W. This will start heat cycle and will run as long as you have the wires crossed. Do not keep wires crossed more than 10 minutes each time you do it.

Need to program thermostat for air conditioning

well your system should automatically shut off when the thermostat reaches temperature, if it doesnt, then you need to look at possibly replacing the wall thermostat or the thermistor on the unit
