Hi! the matter is that Epson, apart from the chips was invented so that when the printer takes a certain amount of printed pages (about 8000 or so, in most models), suddenly stops working , the two buttons start to flash and does not walk more.
This is because the ink that they will bring to the cartridges when cleaning heads, going somewhere.These are the waste ink tanks, this is where you stay, and the printer has a meter that estimates when the tank is full and stops the printer to prevent ink overflow and cause an internal short circuit.

You should always go with new,refilled cartridges can cause many problems.A lot of times when they refill they damage the circuit film which carries all the signals to the pc baord.
Is this a New printer or a used one?
what are the cartridges new or uses original or third party
Did you follow exactly the Epson installation procedure?
