Thick color lines on screen

Hello, My plasma 1st developed one 2 inch thick (blue) wide line that runs from the top to the bottom of the screen. Now it has a second line (yellow) that does the same thing but on the other side of the screen. I called LG who told me to unplug it but it did nothing. Should I bother taking it in or is it shot?? Thanks!!

Both of the lines are transparent. At first the line would come and go for no real reason but now the blue one seems to stay on all the time but the yellow on will come and go. No solution yet.

Hi ,Sorry, this is not a solution. I have a question about your line. Is it transparent? (can you see through if the picture is bright)Does it remain there all the time if you change inputs? My LG 42" just had a blue transparent line appear on the right side of screen. Tried a few trouble shooting things w/ no change. About 1 hour later it went away. Did you find a solution and what was it?

Plasma color TV screen developed dense black vertical line

This is the best solution for your problem as a 40 year experience with wires etc. Go to the source of your cable signal connector . Open it and clean the terminals with emery paper , sand the end of the cable shiny clean from corrosion , get a new barrel connectors with gold terminals if possible lengthen the ends of the cable , insert and tighten good, use thick rg-16 or rg 40 cable with good insulation ends crimped professionally with a crimpier or buy ready made , not from dollar store. Get a gold plated professional splitter if you need one or two , it will cost about 15 or more each . Make the cable runs as short as possible, using the thick good cables. If needed get a signal magnifier. From radio shack or the source etc. Connect them good and tight . Ground the splitters . Problem solved , you will get crystal clear channel 2 to 7 including 3 and 4 . Isolate the TV cable from other cables and power wires. Vitally

42 inch samsung plasma tv black vertical lines

Hi, Depeending on the thickness of the lines matters. If the lines are Black and about 1-2 inches thick it may be a bad bottom buffer board or a bad panel (screen).
If the lines are thin 1/16 to 1/8 inch it is most likely a bad panel.
You can open up the set and depending on the model, see the thin board/boards running across the bottom with ribbon cables going to the panel. You may be able to attempt reseating the ribbon cables, but be careful as some retainer plugs break very easy.
If the lines are thick black and the reseating doesn't correct it you may be able to buy the coresponding buffer. Unfortunately some bottom buffers are actually part of the panel. If you are not comfortable taking it apart then call a professional but be aware labor charges start around $200 not counting parts, panels start at $600 up to over $1000
hope this helps
Thanks
Eric
