Try pressing the reset button on the side. If it starts up go in to the utilities menu and reset it. That may fix it, or you may need to reload the firmware. You can get the firmware from the Creative support pages.
You can take it apart and unplug and replug in the battery. this will void any warranty. BE SURE YOU DONT LET THE SCREEN DISCONNECT FROM THE PLAYER. Mine did and i can't get it hooked up and have damaged it in the process. Darn thing works/charges/everyhting though. Just no screen...
I Recently bought a Zen, and it works great. The only problem I found was that it freezes itself from time to time, and the best solution to this problem is on the bottom of your Zen, there is a very small Reset hole. With a needle or a toothpick, gently stick it in, and push lightly. This will allow the Zen to unfreeze, and return back into it's regular mode. All your files will be saved, and kept on to the Zen, so you don't need to worry about losing any of your files.
I'm facing the problem too. The only thing you can do is push a pin or straightened paper clip into the Reset button. But dont push too hard as you might spoil the thing. So its good to bring a safety pin along, just in case.
