  1. Pull the trim ring away from the ceiling.
  2. Squeeze the springs on either side and slip them out of the u shaped tabs.
  3. Along the top of the trim there are 2 tabs that have a small ridge pointing inward. Squeeze those tabs so the silver bell of the trim slips though and can be pulled out horizontally. This is kind of tricky and takes some patience to get the tabs on both sides pushed at the same time.
  4. (Hint) Replace the bulb with a long life (LED) bulb. Since they are much cooler to operate you can probably put a slightly brighter bulb in and the darn thing will last for many years.
  5. Reverse the process to seal the fixture back up.

How to remove and replace cover on a juno air-lock shower light

Step 1 Turn off the shower light at the light switch.
Step 2 Place a rug with a rubber backing in the shower stall for secure footing. Place the step stool on top of the rug.
Step 3 Insert a plastic putty knife between the outside rim of the light fixture and the ceiling. Be careful not to scrape the finish off the ceiling when inserting the blade.
Step 4 Pry the fixture cover away from the ceiling with the putty knife. The fixture cover includes a translucent plastic lens within a metal rim. The cover is held in place by torsion springs, so it will be resistant to release. Apply careful pressure until the cover pops off.
Step 5 Remove the old light bulb, and replace it with a similar bulb.
Step 6 Press the cover back in place. The torsion springs will click into place when you press the cover into the ceiling.

Why does my utilitech model 105851-028 recessed light, cycle on and off .

Recessed lights have heat sensor to prevent fire. The sensor will turn off light until the sensor cools, then light comes on again.
The overload heat sensor has gone bad, or the heat from light bulb is tripping sensor.
Reduce wattage of bulb, or replace light

Interior light bulb replacement in an 05 Audi A4

Look for a small-cut like recess on the sides of the bulb-housing.
Put a flat-end screw-driver to that recess and twist off.
If that don't seem to work, insert the screw-driver to the base of he bulb-housing and pry it off with a gentle but firm twist.

I have a problem with my kitchen's recessed lighting. For some reason, the six bulbs will go out during the evening hours, then come back on. There is no pattern, with one, two, three or four of them out...

It sounds as if you may have higher wattage bulbs and/or the wrong type of bulb installed in the can fixtures than the recessed cans are rated for.

When the wattage of the bulbs is higher than the rating of the fixture, and/or the wrong bulbs are being used, the recessed can's thermal overload device will shut off the light, to prevent damage and a possible fire situation.

It is unlikely that you've got a faulty dimmer, since you state that not all of the lights go off at once, thus it can be narrowed down to each can and thus the thermal overload being the culprit.

I would suggest you look inside the recessed can light fixture and determine what the maximum wattage bulb you can use, (60, 75, 90 watts, etc.) and use the next lower wattage bulb instead. I also install only Halogen bulbs in recessed cans, (they have a flat lens vs. a rounded bulb lens area like PAR type bulbs). Halogen bulbs are also the most efficient incandesent bulb that provides the whitest light possible and directs more light (and thus heat) downward away from the recessed can.

I avoid using a standard light bulb or PAR type bulbs in any recessed can fixtures as they tend to heat up quite a bit and cause the thermal protection to trip frequently.

As a Master Electrician that has installed literally thousands of recessed fixtures and dimmers, I can say that my customers prefer the Halogen light over standard bulbs and they last longer too.

I hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

How do you remove the cover on a recessed light to change bulb?

Most "can lights" have a spring clip on either side of the cover and you simply pull down on it. To completely remove it you push together the clips, and pull them through the slots.

Minka aire ceiling fan

This may not apply. There could be an electrical problem. But if you installed the bulb with your hand, the oil on your skin can cause the buld to heat excessively and fail. I suggest you use the packaging or part of it when installing it, taking great care not to touch it.
