Whirlpool icemaker not giving cubes, only crushed ice

Help, please! Our icemaker is on the CUBE setting, but is only making crushed ice when we press the chute for ice. The ice hopper is about half way full, and it has been working fine until today. Unit is less than a year old. Water dispenser is working well. TIA, MissInformation

Ice maker will not dispense crushed or cubed ice but is making ice in hopper. I cleaned away frozen ice underneath hopper, motor runs but not ice.

Ice does not dispense from whirlpool refrigerator. Model # ED25PQ If you press with a cup or glass to attempt to get ice whether it's cube or crushed there is no noise or ice being sifted through.

Check the ice cube container to see if it is full of cubes and also that the cubes are nor "bridged" above the dispenser auger. Hope this helps!

My ice maker is dispensining crushed ice only. It has the cube/crush choice feature on the door. We have always used the cube choice. It is on cube now, but giving crushed. Thank you

Pull the ice bin out.
Then re-install the ice bin until it locks in place.
It will work OK then.

MY ICEMAKER IS STUCK IN THE CRUSHED ICE CYCLE WONT PUT OUT THE CUBED ?? EVEN WHEN I PUSH THE BUTTON BACK AND FORTH WONT SWITCH ??

if you have selected cubed on the door and still wont dispense cubed ice likely cause is the cubed ice solinoid( located behind the panel in where the auger motor is located) thats the motor that turns the curly thing in the ice cube resivoir.....!!!

Dispenses crushed ice and will not dispense ice cubes

You have a solenoid switch which switches the dispenser back and forth from crushed to cube. It could be stuck or not working or the parts connecting it could be disconnected or broken. You will have to observe to see if any parts are moving and if any noise is coming from the solenoid

GE GSH25KGMD Crushed Ice Only

Remove the ice bin . Set the dispensor for cube and push in the door switch . Press the dispensor pad and you should hear a loud bang . If your looking inside at the same time , you should see a square white "gate" lift . This gate lifts to lift the rod on the ice bucket to give cubed ice . If this gate does not lift , then the auger solenoid is probably bad . Part # WR62X58

Ice maker frozen on "crushed" ice mode

Check the bar below the icemaker bin. There is a gold color metal bar that goes from the front of the bin to the back and goes into a lever at the back of the freezer. If the bar gets on the wrong side of the lever it will be stuck in crushed mode.

There is a selector for crushed or cube and is usually at the dispensor.or above it. good luck
