Question about Frigidaire FAP094P1Z Portable Air Conditioner

3 Answers

Just bought it and put it on its side

I just purchased a frigidaire portable air conditioner model # fap094p1z and I had to put the unit on its side for about half an hour to be able to transport it to the house. I was told I would have to wait some time if i did this because of the freon in it. How long do I have to wait to be able to plug it in?

I have water leaking out the bottom left side in the back of the unit. It is a new unit and was transported fron NY to Southern NJ. It is vented outside and also the pump hose is on the outside as well. We have run it for 3 days and it continues to leak.

Hi the rule of thumb is keep the fridge in the up-rite position for at least the same amount of time that the refrigerator was laying down to help any oil in the lines to drain back into the compressor before plugging it back in.. But I like to wait 24hrs to be on the save side..hope this helps

How do i drain the bucket

On Mine I have a small spout on the back of the unit near the very bottom. There is a rubber stop that you pull out. BUT make sure the unit is outside or like I did...rolled the unit to my top stair then placed a large pan on the first step down to catch the water.

Hello, I need the hose to drain water outside that fits the fridgidair portable air conditioner #FAPO9EP1Z1. Is there another small tube or is there any other hoses or vents that I need? I don't see...

impreston - with out the following parts , you really don't have "just the air conditioner."

1- Flexible Exhaust Hose
2- Hose Adapters
1- Sliding Window Kit
1-Foam Window Seal
1-Remote Control

The drain hose is something you supply. A garden hose, no longer than 5 feet will do if you want it to be a continusos drain, rather than drain into the water collectiong bucket. But, without the first 4 items lister above, you won't be able to operate the unit.

Here is a link that may be of some help to you, since you don't have an Owner's Manual.

You will beed to contact Frigidaire (1 -800-374-4432 ) for the parts you're missing.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

Our brand new Frigidaire portable air conditioner emits a bad smell? what could have cause this?

Was it new out of the box or did you buy it as an open box? Is it more of a musty smell or more of a rotting smell? Does the compressor stay on when you turn it on, or is it cycling on and off? Let me know what you find out and we can go from there.

I am getting alot of water leaking out of the unit.

I live with my husband and three sons in a house that we almost never succeed in cooling enough every summer. But a few months back, my uncle mentioned that he had recently purchased a new model of air conditioner by Plasma Cool called Plasma Cool Portable PC-14E that required no draining and came equipped with technology to remove most of the humidity from the air. We checked this ac out at his home, and the next thing we did was researched all the no drain acs with evaporative booster out there in the market to see if there was anything better than the one my uncle had. But the only one that met our needs and budget was Plasma Cool Portable PC-14E. At 14,000 BTU, this ac is 40-50% more powerful than similar acs in the market and covers upto 500 sq. ft. Look for this product on which lays out the features and specifications in easy and comprehensible fashion without coming across as trying too hard to sell you the product. We just finished the 30 day trial period, and now own the ac. We are very satisfied and are considering purchasing another unit soon.

My portable frigidaire air conditioner bucket light on

The actual bucket is located inside the machine at the bottom.  To access it, you must unscrew all of the screws and take the front panel off.  You cannot empty it from this side so it is not worth taking the machine apart.
However, in order to empty the bucket, there is a small black plug at the bottom left hand side at the rear of the machine.  Be careful when pulling out the plug because the water will immediately drain.
Good luck.
