I have a cracked screen also. I contacted Sandisk and they won't offer any assistance. They're customer service is the worst I've ever had so far. They respond promptly with "sorry for the inconvenience". A multi-million $ company and no service...useless.
Anyone know of any parts suppliers, since the company that makes the unit doesn't have parts for it's own product?I have a cracked screen also. I have a Sandisk Sansa e200 media player with a cracked screen. Is there a replacement screen available for these? The outer case is cracked too. I'm assuming I need to replace the front case (Cherry Electronics) but I can't find a screen. Can the screen be replaced? Do I need to buy a dead unit with a good screen and swap them out? Is this possible? Thanks, Rray

If you can find a cheap e250 like a refurbished model from buy.com you can open both of them and swap out the 8 gig circuit board for the 2 gig in the e250. The memory board is the smaller separate circuit board that plugs in on top of the larger daughter board

You already have firmware installed in the e280. You can download the Sansa Firmware Updater from the manufacturer's web site at http://www.sansa.com , which will tell you whether or not there is a newer version available for download.
You are in luck - Philadelphia is one city where you can actually get mp3 player repair. Call Nerds Next Door at 1-888-596-4321 - let me know how it goes.
Guest - if you know how to use a soldering iron, there is a YouTube video that will show you exactly how to repair your screen. If I were you, I would just call Sansa and claim your warranty, but maybe you are out of warranty.
While the LCD display for many MP3 players may be replaceable, in some cases the availability and cost of doing so might make repairs uneconomical.
I would first suggest checking with the manufacturer of the MP3 player (SanDisk) to see if the screen is sold as an individual component or as part of an assembly - this can often give you a good idea of how much repairs may cost, before any labor charges are factored in. Keep in mind that not all manufacturers may offer replacement parts for their LCD screens if the model has been discontinued or is currently subject to a recall.
Once you've gotten a good idea how much replacement parts may cost, you may wish to then speak with your local repair facility for more information regarding any potential installation charges.
If you are still unsure how to proceed, remember that you can always bring your MP3 player into a Geek Squad® agent at your local Best Buy™ store for further assistance.
No there is not. Call Sansa to get THEIR price for a replacement player. View eBay to find a reasonable price. It is definitely NOT cost-effective to repair it.
My best advice is to get a junk player from ebay or other source, one that has a good screen. There are only 4 screws that hold the screen on,once you remove the back. With a small phillips screwdriver and about 10 minutes you can replace the screen.
Hi you can get it fixed but the only place that do this is the makers as you cant take them apart you need special tools to do this and you cant buy them i know loads of people that have tried repairing these thamselves and end up destroying them so its not worth trying youl never get the cases off try going to sandisk site have a look on their site and get the customer support number or email give them a call or send them an email then they will tell you where their local repair center is to you its the only option you have but it will be cheaper than buying a new one so give them a call. Also depending on how long you have had it you might have some warranty left if not you will have to pay for repair but it can be fixed just might take few weeks for them to repair it as they repair thousands every week so contact them via their site ok let me know how you get on ok
