The ink snaps pretty hard into this unit. Make sure take the little clear tape off of the bottom of your ink cartridge. Open the fax machine, if there is already an ink cartridge there, you have to pop it out. Pull it from the top colored part of the cartridge. Take your new cartridge with the side with the number on it facing you, and just push it in. It's easy, it just might seem like it's not going in right because it is kind of hard, you have to push it a bit to get it to snap in.

check if the noozles are on the catridges or on the independent print head. if the print head is seperate from catridges, them try print head cleaning. if you it cant work. then dip the print head in hot water for 5 to 10 seconds. dont dry it just put it back into the printer and try again immedeately. let me know if your problem is fixed
New cartridge wouldnt print but sounded like it was printing. You can check ink levels clean or align cartridge by pushing menu then tools. I cleaned contact points w qtip and alcohol. What seemed to work is putting alcohol on cartridge where ink is released and putting back into machine wet did this three times first time little dots of ink then a faint print and now it is printing must have been dried ink further then I could access.
Try checking under maintenance or ink settings, sometimes if the cartridges have been refilled they are not reset correctly and the ink level checking fails to work. There is sometimes and option to ignore these for refilled or compatible cartridges.
Control Panel --> Printers and Faxes --> Right Click on the Printer ICON and select Properties --> Look for a "Maintenance" or "Tools" Tab across the top click one --> Look for an option for "In" or "Ink Settings" and click on one of these options to run
If you cannot find that then Try going into Control Panel --> Printers and Faxes --> Right Clicking on your printer --> Look for a "Maintenance" or "Tools" Tab across the top click one --> Look for an option for "Cleaning" or "Deep Cleaning"
turn fax machine off open cover and put 3 drops of 3 in 1 oil on the the big silver bar the ink cartridges ride along perform alignment and try to recieve fax if this doesnt work clean all the rubber feed rollers with isopropanol alcohol (rubbing alcohol) applied to a microfiber towel then try.
