Need a new belt - Teac P-A688 Turntable

yes a new belt should have a new tension other wise they cant guarantee the belt will last another 90k miles because in the old tensioner loosing tension and possibly damaging the new belt

When replacing fan belts, route the new belt through the pulleys so that it uses the exact same path as the old belt. You may need to loosen the belt tensioner a little bit more in order to slip the new belt onto the final pulley.-------------------------------------------------------------------------

the a/c belt is not held taut with a tensioner, you need to loosen the compressor and pry it one way or the other until you get enough slack to remove the old belt and and slide the new one on, to retighten the belt you may need a pry bar of some type ( tire tool, long screwdriver )

Take off the new belt ... toss it ... get a new belt ... before you put it on ... clean all the pulleys twice ... final cleaning should be alcohol.

I need to know more. like how to instal belt or how to find what belt fits your dryer . need more info like mod # there 5 different belts for hotpoint . and several different ways to install them so model # ______________ needed . **** . pls .

Sounds like you have the Northstar engine yes?...if so...you won't need to dismantle anything other than the water pump belt cover. You can then put the new belt on by levering the small belt tensioner.
Pulley's do not need to be removed, simply position the belt around the three pulley's.

Just a new belt--the valves on gas engines do not hit the piston like on diesel(this is because diesel has very high compression)

Remove the fan shroud cover and draw the fan belts route, loosen the aircon tensioner bolts x 3 on the left side of the cover and remove the aircon belt.With a 15 mm socket on a power wrench pull the auto tensioner to the rightand remove the belt , with a little skill and patience you can get the old belt off and the new one on over the fan blades without removing the fan.Make sure the belt is on properly to prevent it coming off when starting.

you do not need a new belt seeing it was replaced, setting the timing should solve the problem,however this is something that should be done by a good mechanic.
