I have a 97 tahoe with crime stopper sp101 alarm. truck was working fine until i put a new battery in, now gas gage is going haywire,and no signal to fuel pump. any solutions, or suggestions. i know its the alarm but dont know why.

When u disconnected the battery you activated the alarm system which has a fuel shut off you need to reset the alarm system ,,check the system for a malfunction [could have received a power surge when battery was hooked up] or remove the alarm system

try putting a dab of solder on each one of the contacts on the fuel pump relay. i had a similiar situation where the relay contacts in the fuse box got strectched out over time so i put a dab of solder on each terminal to beef the contacts up and it worked perfectly. i think this will work because if the mechanic put a wire jumper in the contacts then electrical it is fine.

SOURCE: 6.5 turbo diesel wont start

check the high pressure oil switch next to the glow plug controller. if the switch is bad you will not get any fuel to your injector pump. unplug the molex and jump it out. this will bypass the switch. if it runs, just buy another high pressure oil switch. good luck!

Vehicle wont start with sp101 alarm

under the dash by the steering column you will see some wires that dont belong and a small black box about a inch square two wires will go up and into the steering column there will only be two that come from the box cut the wires that go to the box and connect them together its the starter disable . removing the blk box it should start

Does black smoke come out of the exhaust pipe when you floor it? Is so, it is running rich. Make sure fuel pressure is with in limits. A bad regulator may permit too much pressure. Also check the MAP sensor. Make sure it is getting vacuum.

I just installed it on a 1990 mazda b2200 and the horn or siren are not making any noise. i double checked that the wires were correct and the horn requires a relay which i connected and installed. can you...

does the relay switch on alarm? check switching on with voltmeter (or 12v lamp). if not, the relay is not driven by alarm - if it does, check relays "power" side with ohmmeter or connect 12v and use lamp. if ok try another horn. if not change relay.

I have a crime stoppers remote start/alarm when I use the unlock button it only unlocks the doors, it does not disarm the alarm. How do I disarm the alarm?

You need to hook up the disarm wire also and depend of what car you're working on, it will disarm when you unlock the car.

Crime stopper sp 500 alarm installed in a 2002

30 seconds or minutes. If seconds then the installer taped into the dome light circuit for the door trigger and when the light turns off it's setting off the alarm.

If 30 minutes, I need more info.

a connection may be faulty on your siren or car horn you can find the manuals at www.crimestopper.com under support then choose manuals and manuals again you have to use the model number from under your dash not the remote because they may be different if that does not work you can contact their tech support at 800.998.6880 ext 210

The key fob comes apart with a small screwdrive and you can replace the battery in it. Most fobs are CR2032, but check it before you go buying a new battery. If this dosen't work you can take the fob to a dealership and they have a tool that can check to see if your fob is putting out a wireless signal. If it is not putting out a signal you will need a new fob. If it is putting out a signal there could be other problems in the wireless controller of your vehicle.
