Question about Canon Pixma MP500 All-In-One InkJet Printer
One day my printer say on its display window: ERROR "Incompatible device detected Remove the device". I NEVER added any device. I cleaned all open slots with a napkin. What can I do?
First of all never use a napkin to clean any electrical devices. Napkins can hold a static charge.Plus as you use the napkin little pieces of it could get stuck between the terminals. Add a little moisture and it spells disaster. For the solution what I would do first is unhook your printer. Shut the power off and unplug it. Then go into your add remove programs and remove all the software and drivers for your printer. You will also want to double check its gone by going into my computer and seeing if under printers your printer is listed. Then what i would do is get a registry cleaner there are many of them on the net to download. This will fix any registry problems that could be causing a error. After running the cleaner then reinstall your printer. Make sure you install it like the manufacture has listed, each printer is diffrent on how it is installed. Once you load the software and plug it in use the utilites software that comes with your printer and test a print page.
