I tried to resize it to 32 (1280-800) but ater reboot it`s again 4 bit.. All so tried to uninsall..rool back..update..allways same things - 4 bit..

I suggest uninstalling SP3... do you have System Restore turned on? Google how to check...

If you do, try rolling back that way. Start>Run>restore <enter> and the restore window will appear. Choose the restore to an earlier time option, and hopefully a choice for 'SP3 installation' will be there. Choose that to roll back... good luck!

I cannot open my you cam..it says that "you do not have a compatible VGA hardware or driver to run youcam"as far as im concerned..i never changed any settings in regards to my you cam..what more...

The VGA drivers of your system need to be updated. Click here to visit HP Official site and download the VGA (Graphics) drivers and install them. Also update the web cam drivers.

Compaq 1592dmt windows 98 fresh install not using the hole screen?

Go to Control Panel - Display - Settings and change the screen resolution to 1028X768.
If you cannot change the screen resolution and the graphics adapter is set to generic VGA then download the Windows 98 graphic driver for your model laptop from the Compaq/HP WEB site and change the screen resolution.
Use this link to download the drivers :-

There is no way to adjust video resolution on my nx6310

The simplest way is this..
Right Click on Desktop > Properties > Settings Tab > Here you will see all the supported Resolutions (If you got the updated Driver).
Note: Nx6310 supports 1024x768 max, if you are still on it, and want more, its not possible.

Screen flashes as desktop initilizes very slow

the hp dv8380us has an issue with the nvidia 7600 go graphics chip when the manufactured this laptop they didn't use the proper heat sink and heat sink compound so it causes the graphics chip to over heat. and when it over heats it causes errors as you explained. i also have a hp dv8380us  and have the same issues and haven't found a fix. mine also shows the picture 4 times as big as the lcd so i can only see 1 fourth of the picture i can see it fine if i hook it up through the vga port though. hope this explains your problem.

Windows XP Home Edition

try going to HP web site, you can download the specific driver for your VGA graphics card, if yours is the CTO notebook it's the intel 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics controllers driver. If not, go direct to the HP drivers page and you can select the exact model VIA there. Also had other software drivers if you are having problems with other hardware.
