My Dell Inspiron 1525 just stopped! Won't turn on!

Ok not an issue follow these steps
1. check the ac adapter has a light on it when connected to the laptop and when disconnected from the laptop.
2.If the ac adapter has light then connect it to the system and then press and hold the Fn key present at the bottom left hand corner and then turn on the sytem . Check if there is any light that comes on and then turns off . If it does make a note of it and at the same time check if the sytme beeps , if it does make a note of the interval of beeps

3. if there is no response then you could try removing something called as the memory from ur laptop by flipping the laptop over disconnect the acadapter and battery check for a bay whicj\h reads C/M on it which is the memry bay . U will find memory modules which is green in colour . u just need to move the latch on either sides of it to release it . Try one memory and then turn on the ystem . If this doesnt fix most probably its an issue with the motherboard .

INSPIRON SYSTEM HAVE ISSUE WITH MOTHERBOARD hence try using a different ac adapter amd check the acadapter port for damages .

HOPE IT HAS BEEN INFORMATIVE:)

I just bought a replacement 9 cell battery and a 90 watt power adapter for my Dell E1505. With the new battery and power adapter my battery indicator light keeps flashing green and the battery doesn't...

If a new DELL ac adapter (3rd party Adapters are not recognized and the charging circuit is disabled) and a new battery doesn't resolve then the charging circuit on the motherboard is bad

I had the battery not recognized on boot up. then

the Dell AC adapter has a sensing pin so the bios can determine the wattage of the adapter. If the system cannot ID the adapter, the battery charger circuit is disabled. You'll need a functional DELL ac adapter to get the battery to charge

On the issue with th ebattery on the 1521 inspiron. Took battery out and plugged in still will not power up. Could it be the adapter as well?

On the ac adaptor, look for a green light that will turn on when you plug it into the wall outlet, if its on that means the ac adapter working. If you get a green light on the ac adapter but then the green light goes away when you plug it into the laptop then that means the laptop has a bad motherboard.

If you plug the ac adapter into a wall outlet and get no green light then that means the ac adapter is bad and you would need to get another one.

Ac adapter does not connect to battery

You either have a faulty ac adapter; a bad power supply in your laptop; a bad battery; or a blown LED indicator light.
1. If the connection is not loose when you plug in your ac adapter try letting the laptop charge for a while. (If you are using the correct ac adapter)
2. Try removing your battery and using the ac adapter. If this works the battery is bad.
3. Try a new ac adapter.
4. Power supply is bad

Facing problem with battery of Dell Inspiron 6400

Hi,
1. Shut down the system, remove the battery and the Ac adapter from the computer.
2. Press the power on button for 10 seconds
3. Reinsert the battery
4. Power on the computer and as soon as you see the dell logo press the f2 key a couple of time
5. Using the up down arrow keys , go to the option that says battery info. If there is an error message listed kindly post it back

6. Otherwise shut down the computer reconnect the ac.adapter and check if the problem is solved

Also the battery has a diagnostic lights on it , remove the battery from the computer and press the button on the battery a set of lights would glow. If they are steady and come in a series the battery is good , If some lights are missing the battery is bad and may need replacement

Thanks

On the long term, a power adapter with a bigger amperage can damage battery and battery charger.

Better to get an adapter with same specs as the 65/70W one , or an original replacemant:

Dell inspiron 1501 work fine turn off last night now wont turn on

You mentioned trying a different battery, try a different AC adapter.

When plugging in the ac adapter to the wall, see if the POWER LED comes on on the adapter, then when you connect it to the computer, see if the LED stays on.

If the issue occurs with both AC adapters (No battery installed) then the motherboard has failed. If one ac adapter works but the other doesn't then the adapter is bad

Dell Inspiron 1501 AC Adapter error message

The Dell 1501 ac adapter (possibly other Dell’s as well) has been known to be problematic because of its lack of a plug to jack secure fit. You will notice that the plug can all too easily be pulled from the jack, as opposed to other systems where the plug fits more securely onto the jack. The plug and jack combination is poorly designed so that over time, the plug will come unseated depending on how much movement the machine is subjected to. This will result in power error messages or outright power-up failure. So before assuming you have a faulty adapter, make sure that it is not just a loose plug that is causing the problem. If you look inside the jack, you will notice that there is a 3mm region of non-conductive material nearest the surface of the jack. Use a strip of standard electrical tape 3mm wide and long enough and wrap it around the base of the plug (you may need more than one layer of tape to get a good fit). I have used this method to secure my plug and it has served me well. If the tape comes undone over time, just simply replace it. A more “elegant” method would be to use an “O” ring of the appropriate size (about 6mm) around the base of the plug in lieu of the tape.
