I have Whirlpool Ultimate Care II Top Loader Washing Machine - The water is pumping in but the agitator is not starting OR washing cycle does not start. I have tried to hand rotate the agitator. It is free to rotate manually but is not started on electric supply. What could be the possible reason and how it can be solved?
Go to www.repairclinic.com enter model number and the first part you see may be the culprit. This part is located between the transmission and the motor. To see if it is broken you'll need to tilt it back enough so that you can take out the pump and the motor each individually and if any of the six finger look things are broken replace the part. My in-laws had this problem and now i'm the fav in-law. By the way it's an easy task.
