Wont reconise cartriges after refill

some printers does not allow to work on refilled catridges that is why it is no detects your refilled catridges which means there is a sensor in side the printer which will check the the ink quality and its particles and it will check some sample ink from catridge with data inside the printer memory once if the printer found a match with ink and the data it will allow to print the content other wise it will no allow if you use original catridge provide by the company it will work...

Canon mp460 printer. refilled cartridge not recognised

Dear Sir,

This is deffinately due to catridge circuit problem.Canon suggest that we have to replace emptied catridges with new genuine canon catridge they dont suggest refilling and also not give any support for refilling catridges. So you can replace catridge with new one.
This Happens due to weakining of catridge circuit portion or may long period printer not in use.
If you not want to replace catridges i will give you the possible hints it may fix refilled catridges.
1.Clean the catridge circuit portion with soft cloth, care must be taken that there is no smudge or ink traces on catridge circuit.
2.Clean the ciruit of printer catridge placing box present inside the printer .wipe out the any sumdge or ink traces.
Then re install the catridges. give the print if it shows error press resume button continuosly. I think it will fix your problem.
If it is not solution is replace the catridge with new one.

good luck

Problem on my Canon ip1880

Unplug the printer from power for a few minutes. If this doesn't reset it, then try the following:

PLUG the printer into power.

1. Press Resume button ( hold for 1 – 2 minutes )
2. Open the cover
3. Release the catridge and then put them in again
4. Close The Cover…
5. Turn Off, then Turn On

I use canon ip1880,i use to refill those ink by myself, sometimes the resume button blink and message comes up said my color catridge couldn't recognize,i cleen those pins and it's work..now long after...

The best is to buy new cart untill it gives problems again!refilling is not good for the head of the printer and thats why its not picking the cart up!but buy new ones and refill them again till it doesn't work and so on!

Ink

Better not to refill. Better buy a new original Canon cartridge. The reason being that some of the newer printers have sensors which can detect refilled cartridges and will cause more problems later.
