Generally speaking if the system cannot "Find" the CD/DVD then it has a hardware fault. OR the BIOS doesn't recognize any DVD's. If it is the latter then one may be able to "Upgrade" the BIOS, if the first.. then a New unit is only option. Also check to make sure the drive "Jumper" is set to Master, if it is the only device on that Channel, if not then Slave.

Dell OptiPlex GX150 bios to default

Go to this link and scroll down to 'Entering System Setup' for complete directions and other useful information on what options are available under bios including resetting default bios settings. It's easier than me going through all the steps and you can save the document and / or link for future reference for your Dell machine, Please rem, ember to rate this if you found this useful. Incidentally anything less that a four thumbs up is not considered a solution. Good luck!

Dell system restore

Depending on the operating system, most of the time it is located in the start menu, programs, accessories, then system tools. Restore is a process that takes the computer back to a specific date and time called a checkpoint. Reformat is a process by erasing the entire hard drive and re installing the version of windows you are running.
