When trying to set washing machine to any setting (Express, Normal, Whites, Etc.), when I press start, the machine defaults to 60 minutes and the setting for cleaning the washing machine.
Also the beeper signal will not stop beeping.
Is there a way to reset the control panel before I call a tech out. Purchased this machine is April 2006.
Thanks so much for any advise.

Re: Washing machine defaults to clean washer option
Sounds like user interface board. Try unplugging the machine, press power button for 3 seconds, plug machine back in and try again. If this does help, it will probably be a temporary fix. The user interface board is the one mounted directly to the console.

This is symbol shows that the child lock has been activated. This can only be turned on/off at the beginning or end of washing programme. To activate/de-activate this, just press and hold the Start/Pause button in for 5 seconds. The time settings will then re-appear and then you can proceed as normal
In owner's manual, go to Machine Information/Care and Cleaning/Cleaning the Inside of Your Ecosmart for a total hot water wash fill:
Press POWER button
Press and hold Favorite button for a few seconds until you hear two quick beeps.
Select Permanent Press cycle.
Select HOT wash. (Yes, you can do this in this mode.)
Press Favorite again to store the selections.
I too have a front load washer. The problem is that it's not washing off all the soap suds. Try this. After a complete cycle, soak the clean clothes in a container w/ water and you'll see there's still soap suds coming out of the clothes. I tried running it several wash cycles and there was still soap left on the clothes. I think, it's mfg defect. We should all complain to the maker of the machines.
