My air conditioner is spitting up water and making a crackling noise. Water is accumulating in the front of it (when I open the front cover i can see it at the bottom when I remove the filter). I removed the window unit - hosed it down, cleaned it out and it's still doing this. Need help - am clueless.

SOURCE: air conditioner is leaking but lights not blinking

Make sure the drainage port is closed as per the instructions. If you continue to have leakage you may have a leak in the tank.

Sounds like the drain line is blocked you would have to take this unit apart in order to check this. I would use a can of air to blow out the leakage. Also make sure the unit is level

SOURCE: My air conditioner unit is spitting out water

You have to recheck your installation. The unit should be installed in such a position the condensed water runs out to the drain pipe and goes out. Please first adjust the position and ensure that the front grill portion is kept higher than the rear portion allowing water to flow out to the drain pipe.

Remove the drain pipe and clean it so that there is no dust or insect blocking the free flow of drain water during condensation.

The above would enable your ac unit to throw cool breeze and not water!

Water is spitting from vents and leaking. i drained the unit but it continues to spit drastically.

These units condense moisture, dehumidifying the air which is good!
They move a lot of air as well, and generally are unfiltered and even filtered
the litle channels for the water to escape to the rear of the unit(outside)
will clog up in their drainpans, the channels are shallow and the drain pain
must be level or biased a tad to the outdoors. The units condensate is to be
routed to the rear where the fan blade has a splash ring on it that splashs the
water on the outside coil. These really need to be removed every other summer at min
and chemically cleaned with condenser coil cleaner that strips the coil clean with a mild acid
to work well

Window air conditioner is spitting water

Hello, usually a window AC will spit water if the unit is not tilted back or if the drain is backed up, if the unit is level try tilting it back it the window somewhat. Also, if the unit does have a drain make sure it is not blocked.

Water in air conditioner

A lot of the newer window units design the outside fan to pickup the condensate water and sling it onto the coil. The evaporative effect makes the unit run more efficiently. They ususally don't spit, but if the unit is running well, otherwise, I would't worry about it.
