Make sure the drainage port is closed as per the instructions. If you continue to have leakage you may have a leak in the tank.

SOURCE: Water leaking from portable air conditioner
Sounds like the drain line is blocked you would have to take this unit apart in order to check this. I would use a can of air to blow out the leakage. Also make sure the unit is level

SOURCE: My air conditioner unit is spitting out water
You have to recheck your installation. The unit should be installed in such a position the condensed water runs out to the drain pipe and goes out. Please first adjust the position and ensure that the front grill portion is kept higher than the rear portion allowing water to flow out to the drain pipe.
Remove the drain pipe and clean it so that there is no dust or insect blocking the free flow of drain water during condensation.
The above would enable your ac unit to throw cool breeze and not water!

My air conditioner is spitting up water and making a crackling noise. Water is accumulating in the front of it (when I open the front cover i can see it at the bottom when I remove the filter). I removed the window unit - hosed it down, cleaned it out and it's still doing this. Need help - am clueless.
