From "John":
"The control panel may in *LOCKED* mode.
Press the *OPTIONS* and *SELECT* buttons at the same time and hold for about three seconds to unlock the control panel.
Make sure the detergent tray is fully closed too."
I pressed both *OPTIONS* and *SELECT* as suggested... worked like a charm.

Hello Annie, thank you for allowing me to assist you!
I see you are still receiving error code "LOC" even after replacing the door lock assembly. Let's try unplugging your washer once again to determine if it is a false error code. It is important to wait roughly ten minutes and then turn your washer on. Before selecting a cycle, press OPTIONS and SELECT at the same time for 20 seconds until "LOC" is no longer displayed. If the error code does not clear, then your washer more than likely may be experiencing an issue with the control board or wiring harness. I hope this information helps to some degree.
Your door lock switch needs to be replaced... Fdl is a door lock error.code. This error shows up because the door cannot be locked. The door will try to lock six times before displaying the error code
You can order a new part replacement from the Sears PartsDirect website.
Listed below is the meaning off the error code, and corrective actions needed.
FdL
Door lock error
A Door Lock Error occurs if the door cannot be locked. It will try to lock it 6 times before displaying the error.
Potential Causes
• Door Lock Mechanism broken or removed from the Door • Check Door Lock/Switch Assembly • Check the wire harness connections to the Door Lock/Switch Assembly and Central Control Unit (CCU) • Door Lock/Switch Assembly Failure
Replace failed component.
If you have any further questions please feel free to ask.
How old is this unit? Usually these locks cost an arm and a leg. This is especially true with units like: G.E, Frigidaire, Hotpoint...These are units that are owned and operated under General Electric. First, if you have a volt-ohm-meter, do a continuity check on the switch itself. Then if that checks out, your next culprit would be the main control board (most likely).
