Owner's manual and standby button

I received my player and there was no owner's manual. I have tried everything to get one. Who can I call or write to get one? Son was able to set up and it worked last night. I wanted to try it out and it wouldn't open up by remote. It will work manually. It is getting a signal because it responds up in the right hand corner with what looks like a hand. I had pushed the standby button and wonder if that has anything to do with the problem. With out a manual, I am stuck.

I have the same missing manual problem and found a free PDF download online! Go to:

They call it the Spectron IQ, but the manual cover clearly shows it's the Protron.

If you would like specific pages of the manual I can try to copy and fax or e-mail it to you. Have you called their tech support? 1-888-257-8899 It's not the best though. I remember having the same time when we first set up ours but can't remember what their answer was, wish I could. I just looked at the manual and it says to set clock first and scan for channels through the "Setup" button. This does sound familiar but somewhat strange as it appeared to me at first when we had the problem. Hope it helps, Ben. [email protected]

According to the manual follow these steps

While the clock is displayed, hold down the clock button for 3 seconds.
Time indicator will blink.
Press the ct button to set the seconds.
Press the H button for the hour.
and M for minutes.

Time indication will stop blinking 5 seconds after the ajustment.
Then the time will automatically be set.

It is not possible to turn om my Sony STR-KS2300 AV receiver after tun it of. Switch on again is only possible when i pul out the mainplug and put it in again.

standby supply issues. weak 5 volt or currupted microprocessor. does the owner manual have any reset procedures (soft reset) .call sony customer service to check.

I'm not an owner of Onkyo but in my Denon owners manual it mentions
"reainitialization of microprocessor" basically resets all to default .
Not sure if your reciever is new just out of the box or used ?
