I am having trouble deleting songs from my mp3 player. When I connect it it goes to the Best Buy digital music store, and the device shows up in my sources, but none of my playlists or songs show up under it. I have tried going to My Computer and doing it from there, but the only songs I could find in there were the ones that came with the player. Then I tried reformatting it, but I still can't find any of my songs anywhere to delete them. Help please!

Re:
Try changing the "mode" on the device.
Settings>Mode or USB Mode>MTP or MSC.*
*(if you have thr 'R' version, your options will be Rhapsody or Plays for Sure)
If you transferred music in one mode, you are not able to see it in the other mode.
Best of Luck.

There are 2 ways to delete music files. You can delete them from the player directly or using the computer. To delete music files directly from the Sansa player, follow these steps: 1. In playback mode, press Submenu button. 2. Select the Delete Song item.
To delete music files using the computer, follow these steps: 1. Connect your Sansa to the computer. 2. Select Open device to view files using Windows Explorer on initial connection. 3. Locate the folder where your music files are stored. 4. Highlight and delete the music files or folder.
Easier to format and state over... If the music is not stored on the computer transfer from the player to your computer Drag and drop is the best way Always format this gets rid of any unwanted mistakes or possible viruses or even boot files which will freeze most players try not to boot your computer with the player connected...........
You have to plug the mp3 player into the computer, double-click My Computer, double click on the icon of the GoGear, and then go into the Music folder - exercise caution: only delete music files - if you delete files that are non-music files, you will effectively destroy your GoGear.
Windows Media Player is more complex, but it is a safer way to delete songs:
To delete files from your mp3 player using Windows Media Player 11:
My Directions:

3. Click on the icon of your Mp3 player on the left-hand side of the Library
4. Click on the Songs, Tracks, or other Music Folder
5. Find a song or songs that you want to delete
6. Left-click the song once to highlight it
7. Press the “Delete” button on your computer’s keyboard
To delete files directly from the Sansa player, follow these steps:
1. In playback mode, press the Submenu button.
2. Select Delete.
To delete music files using the computer, follow these steps:
1. Connect your Sansa to the computer.
2. Select Open device to view files using Windows Explorer on initial
connection.
3. Locate the folder where your files are stored.
NOTE: Music files are stored in the MUSIC folder. Voice recording files
are stored in RECORDING folders. Photos and Videos are stored at PHOTO
and VIDEOS folders, respectively.
4. Highlight and delete the desired files.
Yes. You have to have an active account to keep listening to those songs. On another note (no pun intended) anything that you OWN in your music files will play for you.
I quit the subscription from Best Buy, deleted the songs I didn't own and now I am satisfied.
My problem was that I was deleting the existing library list in my computer when I attempted to add more songs to the MP3 player. I thought since I had already downloaded them to the MP3 player, that I could get rid of them from my PC's Media Player's library. The new songs I tried to add, would override the old songs stored in the MP3 player. Apparently you have to continue to store all the songs in your PC's library, and then when you add more songs you can transfer only the new ones to your MP3 player. A guy at my work told me this.
go to file browser on the p2 and click on songs. then you can select the songs and delete them from the device. You can also use best buy digitalmusic store or just plug in your device and go to computer yp py and hit songs then you can delete some of your tracks. You can manually delete the music from your computer.
Connect the device. Go to My Computer>Device name Double click on the device to see the contents. You may or may not have a "music" folder, look in there to manually delete the music.
Best of Luck.
You can generally connect the device to the computer and see the information under My Computer>Device Name.
Then you can manually add or delete music from the device.
Best of Luck.
