Open memory card chamber to see if one or more pins at the bottom of the chamber are bent or broken off...careful straightening the pins because they can break off... should be done by an expert.
It's possible for CF cards to get corrupted as well. Try another card. Nothing to lose right?

I had this problem today(error 99) I did all the solutions above and nothing work. So I removed the main battery pack, I have the dual type and after min or so I reinstalled the battery pack and it works now.???
