Frozen or dead

I had my zen plugged into the computer, and when i unplugged it, the "docked" screen stayed up. i tryed plugging it back in, and the computer didnt register it. then the screen of the zen went blank and it wont start or charge on anything. i've tryed plugging it in to several different computers, and tryed it with different cables. i thought it might be bent in the usb port on the player, but the cords fit fine.

Thanks for the suggestion! I had the same problem and the reset button on the side (same side as power button) turned it off, I pushed the button and it came right back on, said it was rebuilding the library, and returned to normal.

My Creative Zen seems to have frozen up on me.

Use a paperclip to push the reset button throught a small hole on the bottom of the Zen. If the battery is dead, you may need to plug it in for a minute and then push the reset button while it's charging.

If a reset does not work using the reset hole, then try this: First, back up all of your music and do this: Turn off the player and disconnect it from the computer. Then press and hold the play/puse button and turn it on simultaneously. The player should be in recovery mode. Scroll down and select format (all) and let it format. Then reload all of music back onto your player and it should work like new. Hope this helps!

My Creative Zen Frozen in Docked Screen

Hello,

The following worked for me. Go to the Creative Zen Support warranty info page of their site:

http://www.creative.com/products/mp3/MP3PlayerRecoveryTool/welcome.asp?

I ran the recovery tool with my zen connected to the computer and it changed from being in a docked state to updating firmware, after it had done this it worked fine again.

Says it is docked and when I unplug it nothing changes - it seems stuck

Push a pin into the tiny reset hole on the bottom of the player.

Creative zen v problems-frozen

I Recently bought a Zen, and it works great. The only problem I found was that it freezes itself from time to time, and the best solution to this problem is on the bottom of your Zen, there is a very small Reset hole. With a needle or a toothpick, gently stick it in, and push lightly. This will allow the Zen to unfreeze, and return back into it's regular mode. All your files will be saved, and kept on to the Zen, so you don't need to worry about losing any of your files.

Any additional help, I'll be glad to answer!
