I want to go on to xbox live but i dont no how

you first need to connect your console to the internet (system settings>Network>Whatever internet network you have) once connected to internet press the start button, and press "connect to Xbox Live" or if you dont see that press sign in. if you dont have an account yet you can create one by clicking new profile and setting up using the code given to you when you bought live. follow steps and you will be successfully connected :)

xbox live has changed its protocols, online users will not need to do anything but if you have not been on for a while you will need to update xbox if this dont work log into xbox live on internet and follow the online setting page.

First you need to have a Windows Live ID email address, you can link any email address to Windows Live so you don't need to create a new one.

Hi, to answer your questions, 1 you will have to pay for xbox live you can get top up cards from most video games shops or you can pay by card, you dont have to purchase live at all if you dont plan on playing massive multi player on line games such as call of duty etc etc, you can still play these games as normal on your xbox but you can get to play other players online via the live network if you plan on challenging other players around the live network if your into playing massive online player games, you also get some bonus levels via live but these are not needed if you dont want to use live.

i have got an xbox 360 and all i use it for is playing the games as they come ive never needed to use it online as im happy enough just playing the games as they are.

now for the updates, you can either go through the live network to get the firmware updates or certain games come with the updates on them so if you dont want to use live then the xbox will update from a game, it is not something you need to do with every live game but as microsoft bring out new patches to get round bugs in their software or a new feature your xbox needs to play a certain game well you will either be sent the update via the live network if your planning on using the network or when you buy certain games the xbox will update from the game, the updates come out say every 6 months to 12 months so its not something you need to do all the time and its not something you need to be worried about because if you buy a game that needs your xbox updating then this game will update the firmware without you having to go on live network.

will give you some advice though, when you get the xbox please make sure the air vent at the bottom end of the xbox as if its lying flat, at one end you have the hard drive if it comes with one or if you buy one but the other grey plastic panel at the other end is an air vent so make sure this is not blocked as it will cause the xbox it over heat in a couple of minutes you will then have the dreaded red ring of death and need to get it sent back for repair so make sure this vent has a good 3 inches of space before anything else as the air is sucked in through this panel and at the back make sure the fans vent is not blocked as this is where the hot air will be blown out.

For you to get on xbox live please follow these steps:
1.create an email or associate your existing email thru www.live.com
2.click sign up
3.If you are using a hotmail,MSN,or live email account you dont need to create a new one
4.If you have a existing email please click " Or use your own email " but if you dont have existing email please use the form to create a new one
5. please enter the information needed,what i suggest please enter your real information and not a bogus one and please do remember your email address that you have created or use and also the password and please make sure when you selected a secret question you have to enter the secret answer and you need to remember it

Now,the requirements for xbox live are as follows:

Now if you have the requirements and your done with creating a Windows Live ID please follow the steps:
1.go to the xbox dashboard
2. go to my xbox
3.select join xbox live
4.it will prompt you that you need to enter tour email address and password (email address that you associated with Windows Live ID )
5.it will ask you to create a gamertag ( i suggest create a gamertag that doesnt contain any malicious,profane,distriminating and foul words)
6.it will prompted you that you need to choose a Gold subcription in order for you go play online (note: you need to have a credit card)
* now if you dont have a credit card please select " no"
Note:there are 2 ways to subcribe for xbox live gold subscription (1) using a credit card (2) thru prepaid card,you can buy prepaid card xbox live Gold subcription thru any stores

7. now once you have completed the request it will ask you to create a avatar or the mini self in your xbox
8.it will prompt you that you need to test xbox live connect select yes and then another prompt will ask you to sent a copy of xbox test connection result when prompted select yes

pls tell me what you did last. in the mean time press f8 during boot screen and select load windows normally(last know good config). this might solve ur problem

y doesnt it work. is it failing to connetc 2 ur router or or failing 2 connect 2 live. if its live then wuts failing?
