Memory Dump/ Not Turning On

I synched some files to my Toshiba Gigabeat (30 G) and it was working fine. But then, while I was using it, the device gave me a message that it had found a virus and was going to delete all the files off of itself in order to protect its memory/ operating system. ow it will not charge, turn on, or anything- through USB or wall charger. Anyone got a solution or idea what's wrong?

Could I please have more instructions on how to restore firmware data as I am still getting same results. "NO SYSTEM FOUND ON HDD" 00200060

Just install your software that came with your Gigabeat. After installation please run the following program. Start/Programs/Toshiba Gigabeat Room/Formatting Utility for Gigabeat. This will place all the files back in the hard drive. Please do not format this unit from My computer to the drive letter. You end up deleting the system and boot files. if that does not help try this in your software you right click on your gigabeat room and open it up and find gbsytem folder drag and drop into your gigabeat on your my computer screen. and then check out.try it couple of times.many times this does work for first time directly. -------- you can also try contacting topshiba service center click the link directly http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/home.jsp ---------- try downloading the firmware again and installing it in your device click this link directly for firmware http://www.megaupload.com/?d=MO4S7T6I ----- This will help. Thanks please keepupdated.please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya.

Gigabeat windows gone

Try formatting the drive. Use either RealPlayer, Windows Media Player or Media Monkey to synchronize your music. You can drag and drop, but I dont advise that as I believe that leads to crash and format itself. DO NOT remove the USB cable while it is uploading. If you need to stop synching, you must first close the programe you're using before disconnecting.

Computer does not recognize Gigabeat Device

the solution is simple. Simply Run both Gigabeat watcher and giga-room programs as administrator if u have windows vista.
How to do this :

Click on start in the taskbar at the bottom right of your screen,
then click on all programs,
then click on the Toshiba Gigaroom Folder,
then right click Gigabeat watcher and click on "Run as Administrator"
then right click "Gigaroom" and click on Run as Administrator

and then look in the bottom right of the taskbar, the little Gigabeat watcher symbol should be there with a green square instead of grey. If its green then it means Vista has recognised your gigabeat and u can now transfer music to it via gigaroom. i hope this helps people as i was on the verge of buying XP myself again... Peace all and HAPPY GIGABEATIN!

Cannot view Gigabeat s30 as a drive letter (e.g. D,E etc)

Hey JayMac, Your s30 is not possible to map it to a drive letter. The reason ? cause your s30 and the other brothers of your mp3 are MTP class mp3's. Meaning that they are Media Transfer Protocol mp3's, so you can only transfer media files. If your mp3 player would be a USB Mass Storage Device, like alot of other mp3's, well you would've been able to recover you're files. But until now, the answer is no you can't recover the files just becauses of that stupid invention of Microsoft, the MTP.

Try formatting, synch your library using a synch software like media player, realplayer, media monkey etc. Do not remove the USB if it is 'Updating'.
