Hitachi DZBX35E DVD Camcorder

Can I download my DVD from my camcorder to my PC, given that this model does not have an USB port? Does it depend on the type of disc used? ie DVD-RW, or DVD-R or DVD-RAM. ( have not tried a RAM yet but have tried -DW & -R types. I want to be able to download onto my PC so I can edit the DVD footage to make short movies. What is the best type of movie editing program I can download for free or at a minimal price, if i am able to download camcorder DVD onto my PC. Thank you

I bought this camera as a "returned item" from futureshop. the guy who had it before me, kept the editing program! It does not come with a USB cord, and cannot hook up to one as far as my knowledge goes. I have had it for a year, cannot return it, and havent used it!
I havent had the money to buy a program for it, and the ImageMixer program it was supposed to come with, is foreign, so I couldnt buy it if I wanted to.

I have another model Hitachi, but the same problem. Today I purchased a Dazzle DVD recorder, which Best Buy assured me would work. You can plug the dazzler into the camcorder and the dazzler also goes into the computer's USB port.

I have the same issue with this camcorder for over a year and haven't received any solutions yet. Has anyone found software that can be used either with the camera or to pull the video from the mini disks to save on the PC?

WELL , LOL ..... I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. WHAT I DO, IS PLUG DVDCAM INTO MY TV, AND RECORD IT ON A DVD, AND THAN PUT DVD INTO THE PUTER AND DOWNLOAD IT., WHAT A HASSEL, BUT, IT WORKS. I TOO DONT HAVE THE POWER PLUG SO I CANT FINALIZE THE DISC IN THE DVDCAM. THE POWER CORDS ARE ABOUT 100 BUCKS, FOR ANOTHER 100 BUCKS I COULD BUY A NEW DVDCAM THAT HAS THE WORKS..........KNOW WHAT I MEAN GOOD LUCK..

I have this camcorder. the problem is that the disc will not finalize without the powercord connected. i myself bought this camcorder from cashconverters and am not able to get the stuff off the dvds. i am looking every six moths for an original ac adapter charger. without it u will not get anything off the dics. if u have the dz-bx35e the usb port is on the front where it says hitachi. if ne one finds a original ac adapter for this model please post web site.

Has anyone found an answer to this problem yet? I have had this camera for over a year and can't download anything to my PC. I have tried everything and always come up empty. I would like to share my movies with family & friends, but unfortunately, I can't.

I think we should all contact hitachi and say that we have been wrongly sold this product and they are playing with our emotional memories - I for one will be contacting them without a please or a thank you!

This is the software that Hitachi say can be used with the camcorder, not sure if it works.

Download videos from camcorder to pc

depends on what type of camcorder it is, if it's the one using cassette, you need to have a TV card that has either HDMI, S-video or AV. TV card can be connected to PC via PCI slot or USB. If your camcorder uses CD, load it on DVD\CD rom of your PC.
If is a memory card load it on your card reader, card reader you can purchase it from PC shops. Hope you find this useful

I have a LumixDMC-ZR1 and need to download the software. I have misplaced my disc John Bolton

Hi Depends on which PC software you have! If you just plug into your usb port, PC will find drivers for you! No need for disc! If not you can download off internet! just type in camera name & model \ software - drivers etc on search engine! Hope this helps!

How to transfer sony dcr-hc26 videos to pc using usb cable thanks

The Sony HDR-HC26 is a miniDV tape based camcorder. No surprises if you can't get USB streaming working.

ALL miniDV tape based camcorders transfer DV-format video by conneting the DV port of the HD camcorder to the Firewire port of your computer. USB won't work. The "DV" in miniDV = Digital Video. It is as digital as the digital video from flash memory or hard disc drive or DVD based camcorders - only better because it is not compressed as much as the others.

Memory cards are not the only way to store digital video - and while not as good as miniDV tape, memory cards are not as bad as DVD based consumer camcorders...

Firewire IEEE1394, DV and i.LINK are all the same thing.

If your computer does not have a firewire port, hopefully it has an available expansion slot (PCI for desktops; PCMCIA or ExpressCard for laptops), so you can add one.

Is there a way to hook up a usb cable to a Sony Handycam DVD205?

unfortunately,no. the dvd camcorder was designed for easy dvd disc recording w/o usb or computer connectivity (it doesn't have usb port for connection). comparable models that has the usb jack are dcrdvd305 aqnd dcrdvd755 (which cost more). but don't loose hope.other options to transfer videos from cam to pc is by using the dvd disc (make sure you finalize it) and your computer's dvd drive (make sure it has supports 8cm disc and the disc tray in the right orientation to take the disc so it won't fall out). once inside the drive.open or explore the disc and copy and paste video files saved on the usual video_ts folder or the .vob files. if you need to playback the copied files you can simply change the file name to .mpg or use a file conversion software (which you can easily download for free online, use free file conversion as your search phrase) to convert files to a file format you need for editing purposes. another way to go is to use the supplied a/v cable. this type of connection would need a supporting software and hardware installed in your computer. an a/v capture card should be installed and a compatible video capturing application would be needed. hope this helps.thanks:)

Video playback is not smooth while playing via USB 1.1

USB1.1 port can generally handle transfer speeds approaching 5.5Mbps between PC and DVD Camcorder. Smooth playback of movies requires 5.5Mbps speeds or above. If the PC you are using has some compatibility issues with the USB driver software, the USB port may drop to speeds below 5.5Mbps causing short pauses during video playback. It is recommended to copy the movie file from the DVD Camcorder to the hard disc drive (HDD) on your PC, then playback the movie from the hard drive.

• Windows XP Install in-box software. Select DVD mode by the mode switch. Connect USB cable between Camcorder and PC. The DVD Camcorder appears as external DVD-RAM drive in Windows Explorer.
