You may be turning the gas tank on too fast. Turn handle very slowly and then wait at least a minute before lighting burners.

SOURCE: Individual burner knobs not functioning

This is a problem with the regulator. Sounds to me like the pressure coming from the regulator is too high. You can get these regulators at most major hardware stores or directly from the manufacturer.

Hope this helps

SOURCE: propane grill

I had this problem when I turned on the burners before I turned on the tank, to fix it I had to turn everything off. Then turn the tank on and wait about a minute for pressure to build in the lines then turn on the burners. Hope this helps

My oven which is only 5 years old won't warm up on bake or broil

This sounds like a weak igniter, it would have to be a gas oven and the symptoms usually are: takes longer than normal to ignite the burner, may or may not smell gas in the oven, does not maintain set temperature or burner does not come on fully, eventually won't heat at all. On gas ovens, a glo igniter is like a light bulb, the more you cook, the faster it wears out. Bottom line, needs to be replaced. Good luck.

Oven not cooking at correct temperature & loses heat

Had a similar issue - but my unit is eight years old. Turns out my issues were my oven ignitors were failing and one of the burners had corroded causing the flame to only light on one side. To fix I replaced two ignitors (apparently they are to be replaced every 3-5 years) and cleaned the burner with a brass wire brush. If you are handy the ignitors are easy to replace - one screw and two wires each. Burner was one screw to remove.

Ceramic ignitors if wearing out can cause delayed lighting of the oven burners and/or reduce the gas flow - hence not heating up.

That was my experience ....

GE profile performance electric cook top is not producing enough heat in the front burners.

Confirm there is 240 VAC powering the unit (make sure a breaker has not tripped or a fuse blown.).

Did the burners ever produce enough heat?

If yes, then we can look deeper. If no, then the burners may not be adequate for your cooking style. Burners are like light bulbs. A 60 watt bulb will put out more light than a 40 watt bulb. A 100 watt bulb will put out more light than a 60.
Typically, a small burner will provide less cooking heat than a large burner.

Top burners often wont light if oven is already lit

I have fix that problem before, the oven heat is soficating the top burners, you will have to adjust top burners with the oven on, so that they will light by them selfs.Or put a shield under the cook top section on the back, so that the heat will not come to the burners where they get the oxigen.

Maytag MER5870 Electric Kitchen Range

Hello ppeaches,
Are you sure that the oven isn't heating up more than 100 degrees or are you basing the problem on the ovens readback of 100 degrees? If it truly isn't heating more than 100 degrees then anything inside there should be hot but not so hot as that it can't be touched. Have you tried to cook anything in there? My intent to assist in diagnosing the problem is to determine if it is a control based or read back based issue? Try cooking something that requires at least a 350 degree temp and get back to me on what happens... We;ll get you running after that,,,,,

Burner on range will not turn off

Look at the back of your range there should be schemetic for your power control board. look for defective burner wire going into relay. There should be 5 relays in rows. Realy is the problem. I had the same problem with my front left burner stuck on high.
After replacing everything works okay.
