Diagnostic test entering key sequence (high temp wash, energy saver dry ,high temp wash, energy saver dry) then pressing the (pots and pans) button to go through cycles. All the led lights are working and showing the machine going through the cycles but it will only fill with water. I checked and the motor is free of any blockage. The heater element is working it will not go into wash or pump out mode. Any Ideas guys?
Hi canchild,
By your description this sounds as though the machine control board has failed. But you should test it first.
Go to Home Depot or Lowe's and pick up a non-contact voltage tester, like this one. It's a tool that you'll use more often than you think for this project and others around the home,
WARNING---> THESE TESTS REQUIRE YOU TO HAVE POWER ON! AVOID ANY EXPOSED WIRING OR ELECTRICAL TERMINALS THROUGHOUT THE TEST PHASE!!!
Now remove the 4 screws holding the kick panel to access the lower
section of your dishwasher. Set the dishwasher to run a normal load and
start it.
The sequence is the washer will send power to the water valve first,
test this with your new tool... it should light up if the tub is empty. If it's already full, power will not be applied to the valve. When the tub is
full, the board will send power to the main wash motor in about 1-2
minutes. Use your Voltstick on the main motor harness. If the board is
good, your stick will light up.
Now hit "Cancel"... this should activate the drain pump (it's on the
right, connected to the pump sump and has 2 wires feeding it). Again,
test with the Voltstick.
NOTE---> Your Voltstick may give you false positives... avoid this
by singling out individual wires to test. DON'T TEST "WIRE BUNDLES".
These tests will confirm whether or not the board is sending power to
the components in question. If you have power? The components have
failed OR the wiring to the components have become loose, broken or disconnected.
If you aren't getting power to the components, your board has failed and will need a replacement. The part number for it is 9743448 and lists for about $160.
Hope this helps!

Hi canchild,
No prob for posting in the wrong spot... at least you provided a model number with you post! That helped!
I'm very curious as to what you found to be the source of the problem. Was it the board? Or was it the wiring to the main pump and the drain pump. (I still suspect that it's the board)
Thanks again,
SG
Canchild,
Thank you for your polite response.
Did you install the new one yourself? Or did you have it installed "professionally". Either way, look carefully at where the dishwasher drain hose connects underneath the sink.
Whether it connects to the drain line from the sink or directly into the garbage disposal, the hose itself has to make a loop. A loop in the upward direction. An upside down "U".
If it's not installed this way, water will siphon down the tube and into your dishwasher causing all kinds of stinky, nasty smells and mess. Which'll mean that your new dishwasher will perform poorly, if at all.
Look under the sinks. If the drain from the DW isn't routed right, your new DW will do the same thing.

Sorry guys I reposted in the dishwasher section. My bad.
Sg you were right the board was the problem. This machine is 13 yrs old and I have been keeping up with the little things but the soap dispenser needs replacing (wont latch closed anymore) the heater element is getting close with the scale build up and now the control board. I figured 13 yrs was a good life. I picked up a Kitchenaid KUDK03ITWH stainless tub from Best Buy this aftenoon and just got it hooked up.I think this is last years model and bought their display for $359.00 been checking and looks like a $600 washer. The new ones are sure a lot quiter. Thank SG for the help.
