Fujitsu Laptop keyboard problem

I'm running XP on my laptop. Several months ago my keyboard starting acting up. Off and on the numbers 5, 7, 0 and the letter y will not work. After several talks with Fujitsu, they decided I needed a new keyboard. Took it in and had it replaced......still doing the same thing. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Thank heavens for the On-screen keyboard.

SOURCE: Fujitsu N Series Lifebook Laptop Keyboard Problem

I have the same problem. IU will be typing away and it seems to tab backwards or something. I returned the first laptop with this problem think it was defective but the second unit did the same thing. The worst part is that I could not recreate the problem for the shop techs. It happened on both XP Pro and Vista builds.

2. Turn off the laptop and unplug it. Remove the main battery, DVD drive , Ac adapter and the hard drive. The hard drive is usually located in a slot on one side of the laptop. Remove the screw that holds the cover in place, then pull out the hard drive, screen sled.
3. Turn the laptop over and remove the screws on the bottom that hold the keyboard in place. Flip the laptop over, open it, then lift the keyboard up and out. Unplug the flexible ribbon cable that connects the keyboard to the motherboard.
4. Remove the screws that hold the laptop keyboard bezel and palm rest in place. Carefully pry loose any plastic snaps on the sides, then lift the bezel and palm rest up and out.

How do u change a keboard in Fujitsu AMILO Li,2735

There should be several screws located on the bottom of the laptop directly below the keyboard. Often times, it will have a keyboard symbol next to it. Remove those screws, lift up the keyboard, disconnect the cable, and perform these steps in reverse to put the new keyboard in.

Laptop software written in Chinese

Your cheap way out would be to contact Fujitsu. They can sell you a Windows XP CD for that laptop that is in English. If you buy your own, it will cost you more. The one that they sell you will only work on that brand of laptop. It will be less than half the cost of a store bought Windows XP though.
The problem with the Asian keyboard; You will have to have them sell you an American keyboard. I am sure that the laptop is at least worth the cost.
I hope that this Fixed your problem.

My Laptop Keys are malfunctioning, it types by itself, and I don't know what I did to it.

Try starting your pc in "Safe Mode" This will load the absolute lowest setting you laptop will run. See if it acts the same in safe mode as normal. If it does not, do a system restore back to an earlier date (a week or so) when this was functioning properly. If it does, try to log on to the mfg website and reinstall the keyboard driver for your laptop.
