Problem with DVD-VCR combo

I have a DVD-VCR combo, it is a GO-VIDEO model 2150. Recently, I turn on the machine, turn on but do nothing but show a message on the display (not the TV). The display show the message "SAFE". It do it nothing else. If I press Power button again,it take a little time, but finally get off. Can you help me with this?? I do not know what is wrong with this machine?

my GoDVD player only displays "SAFE" on the player and nothing else happens. what causes it?

(Sorry, this is my first visit to FixYa and I found my problem was just inadvertently listed as a solution).

I have the same problem - the DVD/Video player is locked up and is displaying "SAFE". It has a Blockbuster DVD locked inside it.
Also has a video which must have been in there for a while.
Need to know how to get past the "SAFE" message and eject the DVD.

I found if you disconnect the power and keep it off for thirty seconds or so to let it reboot, the "SAFE" problem disappears.

Combo units have this essential flaw--if one half fails you are usually done especially if the DVD side fails.

If Door does not open either a disc is jammed inside the mechanism or the mechanism is out of alignment or damaged.

Good argument against buying these units--DVD individual parts are rarely sold--only (if available) would be the entire DVD unit itself--not cost effective to repair.

DVD players are now real cheap (see some for as little as $20) so if not a simple jammed disc or something like that buy a DVD player.

Go Video DV 2150 - DVD door won't open at all. You can hear a mechanism working behind the closed door, but nothing happens and the door remains shut. Any advice??

There is a small belt under the loading tray which would have gone slack ( loose ) and the sound you hear is it slipping on the motor pulley. If you are confident you can remove the mechanism and turn it upside down and access this belt. Dismantle only if you can get the spare belt or your efforts will be in vain.

I have my Samsung model dvd V9800 hooked up to my RCA RT2906. The dvd side is showing a picture but the video side is not. The RCA RT2906 has have a hook up for a vcr player by it's self but I do not think...

Hi,
VCR video signal wont come out from Component Video Out of combo unit, it is low resolution signal so you need to hook yellow-red-white video cable in tv for VCR output.
Make sure to select VCR as source in combo while playback of VHS tape and select DVD as source when playing dvd disc in combo.

My DV1140 - go video dvd/vcr combo - the dvd is stuck on progressive scan... how can I get it off. I've unplugged the machin for 6 hours, it didn't clear. When I turn on DVD all I see is progressive...

You have to use remote setup to program off progressive scan. Go video is made by LG, the remotes for dvd/vcr combos are almost the same.

GO Video VR 3845 DVD/VCR combo will not turn on.

Yes,if u want to.Unplug,replug the unit back after about an hour or so.The unit should reset it self out of protection mode and work again,if nothing in the circuit boards are burn.

alot of times when the video cord gets pinched it will go to black and white you just have to replace it if that dont work. then its one of the machines.
