Yes, you can, but the -010 is the weakest IC and may not last long. I always use the -020 IC and never have problems.

Hi:
Your problem is the convergence circuit, you need to replace the convergence Ic's there are two large black IC's mounted on a large metal heatsink. The part numbers are STK-392-110 replace them with the same part number or use STK-392-120 for better and long lasting.

I have alot of offset blue and yellow in my picture. I tried convergence from the front but it didn't help...what can I do to fix w/o alot of cost in these tough times..?

Hi,
This problem is related to the convergence, but it requires replacement of IC STK from one of them who control convergence, check both and replace faulty IC STK from new one and your tv work fine again. You can buy the convergence IC's from the link click here.
Thanks for using fixya.

When I try to do the manual converegence on my sony kp51ws510, I cannot get the squares around the + to change to red or blue and consiquently I cannot adjust the convergence. Flash focus works fine but...

You need to replace the convergence IC, They start with STK make sdure you get original stk IC's and not cheap china made or aftermarket parts as they will not lasts long in your set. if you pay less then 15 bucks for your IC that really is no bargain cause it is most likely an aftermarket IC

Letters and numbers are 3d and curved picture

Hello

red, green, and blue lines curve across the top of tv is cause by defective convergence STK IC or you have open resistor at convergence section. if you have defective RGB Color vertical ramp probably you have defective STK IC..

Hitachi 65xwx20b convergence

Your message says you "replaced stk392-150", did you replace both of the stk`s or just one of them??? One is for RGB vertical the other is for RGB horizontal, you should always replace both stk`s as a set, Hitachi recommends you use a "replacement kit"
part number X480306", this kit includes both stk`s with a new & supposedly improved set of stk`s as well as all resistors that are required for proper set-up, they strongly recommend you change all of the parts in their kit. The only other thing besides IC`s & resistors that could cause your problem is:
1) bad dcu output (you need a scope to check this)
2) you`ve lost either the +15 volt line or the -15 volt line to the IC`s, "Fxxx" chemical fuse open in power supply.
