Question about Whirlpool GHW9100L Front Load Washer

1 Answer

Entire wash cycle runs very slow.

No matter what cycle I put it on, it takes about two-and-a-half hours to complete. Even on the shorter cycles. The machine does wash, rinse, and spin, just too slow. What's wrong?

Fisher and Paykel washing machine

Without being smart...buy a new machine. It sounds as though the timer is dying...therefore slowing down...therefore extending cycle times. If that's the case, a new timer will cost about half the cost of a new machine.

How long is the light wash cycle suppossed to run and does the options cycle need to be run too? i have put my machine on light cycle and it runs back and forth from sensing to wash .. stops and goes back...

Hello, Thank You for using FixYa. I will be helping you today.Yes it is normal. The length of the cycle depends on the water temperature entering the unit and the options selected. The unit has a sensor that checks the water constantly until it is clean. A normal cycle on this unit with options selected can last two hours. And stopping the unit and opening the door extends the time also.
Thank You and please rate my answer if it was helpful..

Normal wash cycle is over 2 hours?

Hello there
If your dishwasher's cycle times are too long, check these: Water pre-heating Cycle not completing Water pre-heating Your dishwasher may pre-heat the water. If so, and if the water entering the dishwasher is cool, the heater may take up to half an hour to heat the water. To avoid the wait, increase the incoming water temperature before turning on the dishwasher. Do that by running the kitchen sink faucet until the water runs hot. Or increase the temperature of the hot water to the entire house at the hot water heater. Warning! To lessen the risk of scalding, don't set the hot water heater temperature higher than 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

What is the amount of time for a regular wash? Time on the plus wash?

a regular wash should take about an hour and a half. plus wash would be longer only because it heats the wash temp hotter.
wash temp is generally around 140 degrees
and your rinse is around 161 degrees.

your flow through heat assembly heats the water at 2 degrees a minute. so it can take anywhere from and hour and a half to two hours for a full cycle.
try turning your sink on hot water until you feel hot water coming out then start the dishwasher so it doesnt have to heat cold water up to those temps. it should run a little shorter.
