Question about Hunter 21575 Antique Pewter Ceiling Fan

1 Answer

Where can I purchase a mounting bracket for Hunter fan #21575-380. It's the part on the inside that attaches to the ceiling. We were relocating the fan and lost the bracket. Thanks!

SOURCE: we have a hunter type 2 ceiling fan installed on a bedroom ceilin

Okay. Turn off circuit breaker. Take the bottom off the fan. Mark how the wires are connected. Remove switch by unscrewing the sleeve you mentioned. Take the switch to Home Depot (or the like) -- buy a replacement.

If you have to turn the breaker back on during this process, make sure you have a wire nut over the end of each of the loose wires you disconnected from the switch.

After you take the switch out, you'll know how to reinstall it, so I won't go thru that.

SOURCE: Hunter fan/light with remote installed turns on by itself

Many times this is caused by stray frequencies in the neighborhood. And, sometimes changing the frequencies on the remote and receiver reduce the occurrence.

But it sounds like this may not be the case, here. If not, the receiver in the fan is the culprit and should be replaced. No danger, just annoying.

SOURCE: Remote controlled ceiling fan has mind of it's own.

I have the same fan. The fan and the remote have some "jumpers" which allow you to change the codes, useful if someone else nearby has the same fan. You can see the jumpers inside the remote, open the back cover... you'll see "4 3 2 1" on the circuit board. Unfortunately you'll need to dismount the fan to change its jumpers, they need to be the same as the jumpers in your remote (which you can move around pretty easily).

SOURCE: Hunter ceiling fan-just installed -possible speed control problem

Sounds like the fan is defective. All internal wiring from the switch to the motor is factory installed. The fan has power going to it. Just to make sure, double check the wiring from the ceiling fixture to the fan.
Problem could be a faulty switch on the fan or faulty motor(bad winding for med. speed). Try reverse switch on the fan to operate the opposite direction and see if medium speed works. If medium does work in opposite direction, it pretty much points to a defective fan. In any case, unless you discover that the ceiling wires were reversed going into the fan, I'd say new fan to the returns dept.

Who made an M52 series ceiling fan? 5 blades, 4 lights

I have a 52" A.C. Ceiling Fan, M52 Series, Fan 82F4, 120V, 60 Hz 1.0A, File No# E143948, TR/HD: 0596, Serial No# 026351-027900, and have had the fan stored for awhile now and it seems I've misplaced/lost, the mounting bracket that fits inside the cover where the stem and ball are located and mounts to the bracket box inside the ceiling. Any ideas of where I can find one so that I don't have to purchase an entire new ceiling fan (again). I've tried 2 ACE Hardware stores, Home Depot and Lowes and no one carries them.

Wiring diagram for harbor breeze celing fan

The colors of the wires in the Harbor Breeze ceiling fan kits tell you what their functions are. The black wire is hot for the fan, the white is a common wire for both the fan and the light kit, green is ground and blue is hot for the light kit. locate the black and blue wires from the ceiling fan and connect them to the black wire inside the electrical junction box by twisting an orange wire connector onto all three wires. Locate the white wire from the ceiling fan and the white wire from the junction box and attach the two wires together with a wire connector. Connect the bare copper wire onto the green wire from the ceiling fan mounting bracket by twisting an orange wire connector onto the two wires. Push all wiring inside the electrical box. good-day !

Can you describe the mounting bracket for this fan?
If it is a ball mount, then there is a groove in the ball that connects to a tab in the mounting bracket. if the tab is gone or the ball is not sitting down in the bracket so that it is secure , then that is the problem. You may be able to find a replacement brachet in a home depot type store .

Remote control will not turn on/off fan or light. Has good battery. Where is the transmitter located on the ceiling fan?

The transmitter is the remote. The receiver is located inside the fan mounting bracket next to the ceiling. If you replace it make sure to set the dip settings on the new receiver exactly as they are on the old one. Wire the new receiver exactly as the old one is wired if it was working before.

Reprograming Ceiling fan remotes

You need to find the dip switches or jumper blocks on posts on the remote and on the fan. As for the receiver, usually they are in a separate unit that slides into the hanger bracket that attaches to the ceiling inside the decorative canopy cover, otherwise they should be visible if you are looking down onto the top of the motor without having to open any kind of access. And as for the remote, you should be able to access them through the battery compartment. just make sure the codes match.

Call Hunter (800)893-9330 for a new bracket. They should replace the damaged bracket for free or a nominal fee. They have a potential liability if the bracket is defective. If you broke it, that's another story.

Cover does not attach to the universal bracket I purchased

Buy a drill and drill bit and make a hole in the bracket where needed. To make installation easier, use a larger that needed drill bit and add washer to screw, won't look as professional but you are not a professional anyway. Who goes around looking at ceiling fan mounts anyway???
