Yes you do. go to an electronics store and buy an rca to ipod cable. just hook it up and enjoy. p.s. stay the hell away from fm transmiters. they are all garbage. hope this helps

This doesnt work dude. The CD player will not go to aux without an input signal through the pinned connector in the back. This is due to the fact that the aux in is really for a cd changer. You need a special adapter to plug into the pinned connector and RCAs to allow the aux in to be available. This runs about 130 bucks so it is probably a better idea to get a new CD player

How do i hook up mt ipod

To hook up your ipod to an a/v reciever you need a stereo mini to male rca cable. You plug the mini side into you ipods head phone jack, and the male rca's left and right(usually red and white colored plugs) to an auxilary input on the a/v reciever.-Example, tape, aux, sa/cd.
Change the input on the reciever to correspond with where you connected the ipod
Ensure the ipod is powered on and playing with the volume turned up.

I want to n know if it is possible to hook up a mp3 player to a sony cdx-ca710x

By looking at the manual at http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-documents.pl?mdl=CDXCA710X
you would have to purchase a FM transmitter to allow your stereo to play your MP3 player.

Is their any way to hook up an i-pod to the reciever

If the receiver has inputs you can use a male rca's to a 1/8 stereo jack. It should fit the ipod on the headphone side and you can use it through the stereo.

There is a auxiliary button on the sony cdx-m8800. Is there a way to hook up an IPOD? The stereo also has MP3 written on the inside face. Thanks

Contrary to the below Expert's testimony, the UK CDX-M880 has a REAR AUX connector that will enable you to play your iPod through your car's stereo.

You will not be able to control the ipod's interface through the radio. You will have to use the control on the iPod .

You require a Male 3.5mm extension cable like the following...

a5e60c6.jpg A 4-6 foot length is recommended, as the cable will need to be routed from behind the radio to a place your iPod can be easily manipulated.

Want to use ipod on cdx-f5710, how to fix it

use the aux lite input on the rear of the reciever. If it is a 3.5mm plug, you will need an extension with both ends male. One end in the aux port, on your head unit, the other end in the headphone jack of the ipod.
If it is RCA Aux lite, you need an rca-to-3.5mm adapter. Either item should be relatively cheap. $4-$5 USD

Sony cdx mp40 bus audio in

ok dont know if you will check up on this but fm transmitters are all garbage. for true undistorted sound go to an electronics store and ask for a rca to headphone cable. then just hook it up to the rca input and run the cable out of either the unit or somewhere on the dash. this will alow for a true connection and if you buy a brand name cable i.e. monster, radioshack, sony etc. should sound amazing. always happy to help.

Having problems hooking up an ipod.

The "bus audio input" works as an auxiliary input on some Sony decks, but not all. For the others, you need an auxiliary input adapter like this one: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-Yln489DwSWp/cgi-bin/prodview.asp?i=127AUXONS You can also use a Sony iPod adapter that will charge the iPod and let you control it through the head unit controls: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-Yln489DwSWp/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=305250&I=158XA110IP&search=sony+iPod

Linking an i pod to a Sony CDX-MP40 using the bus input terminal

Some Sony head units let you use the Bus audio inputs as an auxiliary source input, but yours is not among them. To play your iPod through the head unit, you'll either need an iPod interface module: http://www.xplodsony.com/xplod/accessories/XA-110IP or an auxiliary input module: http://www.xplodsony.com/xplod/accessories/XA-300 The iPod interface will allow you to control and display the iPod directly through the head unit, while an auxiliary input adapter will allow the iPod to play through the head unit using the iPod's controls and display.
