When you disconnect your battery and then reconnect it again, it disables the radio. This is an anti-theft protection for your car radio. The enable your radio the activation code is in your vehicle owner's manual. If you do not have this code you need to go to your Renault service centre and get them to enter this code for you.
Code 81 is brake switch input circuit. The being stuck in third is a limp mode because of a hard code being set.If you repair or replace the brake switch issue you should be fine on the shifting issue.Good luck and let me know if i can help.
Normally the code is either in the manual, the glove box or behind the radio itself. Check the radio last as it might require you to remove some panels, but try to slip under and behind the dash with a mirror/light first, could save you some time.
the only way to radio code is to get radio s/n serial no# on the radio itself beacuse every car has its own unique code ive tried myself and this is how i know if you can try calling your dealer or any honda dealer and give them your s/n but some of them charge for this info, try and look through your manuals and make sure its not in the book
