Question about RCA TruFlat 27F520T 27" TV

1 Answer

Help When I plug in my T.V. the power switch lights up and the set makes the noise like it is coming on. Unfortunatly, as quickly as it turns itself on, it switches itself back off. After it turns off it will repeat the process 3 or 4 times (switching itself off and on). Then the power switches light goes out and the T.V. shuts down. I atempted to push the switch, but it will not turn on. I never get sound or picture because the set turns itself off and on so quickly. It is only two years old and I am pretty disapointed in the quality. Please tell me which part to replace or come up with a solution for me. Thank you for your time and concern,

It's probably something wrong inside, so if you don't want to open it you will probably have to send it in for repair. Since it's only two years old, might you still have waranty on it? Try to contact the dealer to find out. If not, I fixed a similar problem on my Sony TV by opening it up, and adjusting the knobs inside. I adjusted *one at the time*, and returned it to its starting position if it didn't seem to have any effect. I finally found one that caused my TV to stay on. If you open it, be very carefull. There are components that can shock you *even if the TV is off and disconnected!* So don't touch any metal with your fingers. While you're in there, clean out any dust to reduce risk of fire later.

Hi I have a sony kp-53HS10 TV. When i turn it on it use to make a clicking noise and than the tv would turn on, but now the clicking noise is gone and nothing comes on. A red light under the tv stays on....

Sounds like a Power Board / Video Board issue - stand by power is still ok - and why you have a red light - but the set is unable to power up the panel to drive a picture. Or the video board is the issue an is no longer processing the image to your panel. Based on the clicking noise - I lean towards the power board as the issue.

I have a 36'olevia HDTV.......it has a detachable power cord and it also has a power switch in back. When I plugged it into the wall, turned on the power switch, and pressed the power button, I got no

The light is likely the standby light if it is on when set is off and goes out when set turned on or changes color when set comes on.

The fact the light is on should rule OUT the main fuse for the set, most likely the problem is the power supply itself inside the set

The Standby supply is part of the main power supply and when set is plugged in and off it runs 7/24.

Have you had problems where the set was "hard to turn on" or you had to try to turn it on several times before it would stay on?

I try to switch the TV on (either using Power button on the remote control unit on TV itself), but the TV switches itself off immediately. I tried it many times, quickly in succession, as well as after...

When the power light comes on and then goes out, on the front of the set press both the MENU and INPUT buttons at the same time and hold them both in for at least 5 seconds and then release both buttons.

The power light will blink a 2 digit error code and repeat it at least 5 times.

The most common error will be 2 blinks, 2 blinks- a pause and then it will repeat it for a total of at least 5 times.

To get it to repeat this--you have to unplug the set, try to turn it on again and repeat the process.

The error codes are to try to narrow down where the problem is.

Let me know what you find and I will tell you what it means.

If this told you something you did not know rate this solution as very helpful as I do this here for free.

My Polytron TV is on standby mode. I used the remote but wont turned off

When you turn that TV "off" with the remote it go's into standby mode, that is the way they made it unfortunatly
To actualy make it not have any power going to it you will have to unplug it or plug it into a power strip and use the switch on the power strip.
They use the standby mode to allow the TV to turn on quickly without making you wait.
