Cannot print using Lexmark Z816

Hi, I've used my printer Z816 with Windows Xp and worked fine. After I bought a new computer with Windows Vista, it didn't work anymore. I've emailed lexmark and they've provided a site where I've downloaded the driver (http://downloads.lexmark.com/cgi-perl/downloads.cgi?ccs=229:1:0:446:0:0&emeaframe=&fileID=11467&searchLang=en&searchLang=en&os_group=Windows%20Vista) for Windows Vista. But the printer doesn't print. I see it in the printers list but cannot print even a test page. I've tried restarting the PC, plugging unplugging printer cables, but didn't help. Thanks, Monica

If you are trying to get an answer for your problems, do not expect it to come from this site. After waiting and waiting and waiting for a response, I contacted the manufacturer directly (Lexmark) and now I can use my printer.

Same problem...downloaded the new driver but it still doesn't work. It identifies the printer, but it will not print. I turned off all of the firewalls, but stll "no dice".

Buy an iMac, it's 200% more compatible than with Vista

Hi,

You can download the installation drivers from manufacturer's site by clicking this link

On the page which opens, select the operating system (Windows XP/Vista,etc..) of your computer from the drop-down menu and download the appropriate drivers.

It will definately work with vista too all you need is the vista driver installed.

I bought a new computer with Windows Vista. I have a Lexmark x73 printer that was used with my old computer with Windows XP. I bought a USB port and my printer still doesn't work. I need help with this.

Not finding a Vista driver to be available from Lexmark x73. They only show the XP driver. You can get this driver free here: http://download.cnet.com/Lexmark-X73/3000-2116_4-22576.html?tag=mncol

One, try installing printer without the XP driver. Lexmark may have provided a quailifying driver with Vista hardware setup wizard. If it does not work or wizard cannot locate a driver, try the XP driver.

Beyond this, you may have to talk to tech support at Lexmark or repost here for another expert.

Couldn't install lexmark 8300 printer software on my window vista driver computer

Follow this link to the official Lexmark website and download the driver.
http://downloads.lexmark.com/perl/downloads/downloads.cgi

If you can't follow that link, go to www.lexmark.com. On the top menu, there is a link called "Drivers and Downloads". Click it and select your series, then your OS system, and there you go.

The drivers for Vista are finally updated.

I had the same problem for about a year... now it works fine.
