My canon s45 used to work fine , and after letting someone use it
i tried to transfer some pics to my computer & it does nothing .
It won't even power up when it I connect to my computer .
and when i unplug the USB cord it works fine . I've tried several cords ,
so I know it's not that .
I also do not have a manual . And i'm thinking it may just be a setting .
Please help .

When connected to the PC the cameras display will blank out, this is normal. If the cameras "Communication" setting is set to "Normal" you can only download images when the cameras drivers have been installed of the bundled CD. If you change it to "PTP" (Picture Transfer Protocol), you can connect it to any computer without installing drivers. Set the camera into playback mode, press the menu button and navigate into the menu with the tools(setup). You will find it there. Good Luck!

Set the image storage setting of the camera to Internal.
Once it is set to internal, put the card in the camera and press review.
Copy the pictures from the internal memory to the card.
