Philips 60pp9202 sound but no picture

Hello everbody hope someone can help me......I have read through the philips hdtv section and must be missing something. I have read about the ic convergence to be changed. everyone is talking about the picture was off(shifted, not looking right, misaligned). I did not have this problem on my set. Here is a solution i read: "If there was a color problem like convergence then change convergence amps, if no problem before storm, probably verticle output. A 7 pin IC located on rear of deflection board against heat sink that stands up" Is the convergence amps(IC)the stk392-120 everone is talking about. and if so what is the 7pin IC, and does anyone have a picture of where it is. Does it look like the stk392-120 IC. I have already pulled the board out where the convergence IC(stk392-120) are but dont want to operate on it until i am for sure this is the right diagnoses. Help Please.

O.k. followed everyones suggestions and still dont have a working set. changed the ic's(stk392-120) and the vertical ic. still no picture but sound comes out. the tubes were barely lit.....so someone suggested to change the flyback.....had a tech come by charged $45.00 to look at it and said it was the flyback wanted $350. to repair it I paid new a year ago $800. Anyway got a flyback from a local tv repair shop and now the set just clicks no picture or sound.

Sorry no pic, but if you look from back of set on deflection board(board with HV transfromer)big part with about 4 wires coming out going to your picture tubes. Looking close to leftside of board the last IC with heatsink shield standing up has a small 7 pin ic if looking on it you should see TDA8177 or something to that affect. This is the verticle IC. Since you have found the IC's (convergence) then the only thing left is to look for open fuses like 1300, 2004, 1900 etc and see if open. Concerning cost if you buy from www.bluestaronline.com these part are inexpensive so it wouldn't hurt to buy all. Rule of thumb, if set has color problem then Convergence IC, if no problem just went out one day while playing fine then Vertical, then the alternative if no sound the audio area, which is not common for this set. Hope this helps!

Philips 43PP8545

The most common problem is convergance amp ic, but with out troubleshooting it's hard to pin point whats wrong.

The quick answer to you problem is critical in what your set was doing prior to it shutting down. Do you remember it having a Color problem like alignment of convergence? Was the sound cutting out on you? Or was there part of the picture missing? If one of these then you could eliminate time and money. To be honest you would save money DIY. You also can call PTS at 18008447871 and get the price on Deflection board or Large Signal, whichever has High Voltage Transformer on it and price. This will save time1.gif troubleshooting2.gif, because it takes the knowledge of knowing voltages, components, etc. Which require skills the average person may not have. Hope this helps!

Philips 43PP8545

You have no high voltage, like many in this forum, this model of Philips has some of the same problems. Look around here you may find the answer to your set. If not check Vertical IC, TDA8177, audio ic on signal board up front on left. check Power supply first for blown fuse, 1000, 2004, 1300, 1900 etc. No sound or pic means something is open. Does set has L E D lights on front of set?
