Help connecting Cable Internet through D-Link DI-514 Router
Help!!! Please!!! For the past several years I have my d-Link DI-514 to connect three computers at our home. (2 by ethernet cables and 1 by wireless.) This weekend I decided to connect the wireless by ethernet to get a faster connection. When I moved the router down to the computer that also has the cable modem hooked up to it and then ran ethernet cables to the other two computers from the router, I cannot connect to the internet except through the main computer that is first in the connection.
I have tried to PING the IP address and it is not found.
Can anyone help me?

What may be happening is the wireless pc as it was; needs the dns and ip address flushing, also the pc you connected the router to as you must have conflicting ip addreses
Click start run then type ipconfig /flushdns.
You should ensure that the router is set to enable DHCP to assign ip addreses and make sure your'e network cards on all pc's are set to obtain ip address automaticaly in the TCP/IP properties.
Restart the pcs and type 192.168.0.1 in your web browser and get into your router setings and check in the DHCP section that all pc's have been given an ip address.
If all fails you may need to reset the router

Do you have Internet connection before you installed the Dlink router? Do you have cable or DSL? If you have DSL make sure you have the username and password from your Internet service provider because you need to enter those information when you run the set up wizard. You need to connect your computer to the LAN port of the router. Turn off computer and router, turn on router first then turn on the computer. Run the set up wizard again.
If you have DSL or cable internet, disconnect the ethernet cable going from the DSL or cable internet modem to the computer. Disconnect the end of that cable that plugs into the modem. Connect an ethernet cable from your cable or DSL modem to the router where it says something like "modem", "internet", or "in". If the router is a wired router, connect the ethernet cable that is still attached to the computer to any open ethernet port on the router.
are u getting all the lights on the router?if yes then connect the router with modem n if its wireless then turn off all three devices
then turn modem on first n wait till the lights on the modem get settelled, then turn the router back on n the computer,n check whether the computer is picking the wireless or not,if yes try the
You will need to create your PPPOE internet connection on the router using your ISP username and password, access the router by opening internet explorer and type in the ip address of the router (example) > http://192.168.2.1 the router logon window will appear, use the username " leave blank" and the password "admin" -or- username "admin" with password 1234. Go into internet connections Select PPPOE connection enter your ISP username and password. restart the router and computer this should establish your internet connection. BPCS
