Question about Coby MPC-848 MP3 Player

Coby mpc-853 I downloaded music last night on this device, and this morning I cannot get it to play for more then a few seconds before it freezes up. I have changed the battery, and taken the battery out and waited 3 seconds....this is a very cheap device, is it just doomed?

Take the battery out for a few days and let it rest. Then, it should start working properly.

For the most part all the onse that we've had have been doomed, either a cold soder joint or a volume key sinking into the body and sticking at zero. The battery coil may be out of place, so try bending that back in place. If nlot, I don't know what's wrong.

'invalid file format'

Some of the mpzik songs are in protected WMA format - the Coby player is so old that it doesn't recognize any DRM scheme past Windows 9 DRM. If you plan on continuing to use Mpzik, your Coby will only recognize the songs that are in mp3 format (or the rare few that have Windows 9 DRM protection). I would suggest using a music service that only provides songs in mp3 format.

Good luck!

Can u please answer my coby mpc-854 512mb problem

I have issues every time I remove the battery. Under settings there is an option for USB mode. The default mode does not seem to recognize the device as a file storage device. Try the other USB option and you may have more luck (Again, the USB option is found on the MPC player, not on thecomputer)

Won't play music

What does it do? If it start and says Coby, but nothing else and shuts off then restarts, it's a cold soder joint most likely. If it doesn't start at all I have no clue. Maybe the batteries? Because that's all the idea I can think of.
