The speakers sound all good because you said "the speakers" are muffled .....it sounds like a problem on the board.....a capacitor a resister but its fixable....unfortunately only by a repairman

Could be sound settings you have selected. Some TV's have different controls, such as graphic equalisers, speech only, music, cinema. Check them all out.

Sound is muffled and coming out of one speaker

i would first try to use new speakers or see what happens with headphones plugged in, and if you have audio ports on front try that. if those are bad to your sound card is probably failing.

Muffled sound from rear speakers why watching TV

switch the HDMI cables around to make sure its not one of them, if the problem is one of them it will move with the cable,if no change i would suspect the coaxial cable next.

Sound from speakers muffle mid song

Assuming you've already checked all your wiring, it sounds like a problem in the amp circuitry. Would you say it happens when the amp heats up? I'm guessing an input opamp circuit is messing up when the amp gets hot. If you are electronically inclined you could open it up and look for a poor solder joint. Other than that you will likely have to get it professionally serviced.
