sounds like you did everything right
could call amazon see if they can help
or do a factory reset to eliminate software problems you will lose all your data
then there is hardware problems dead battery that won't recharge bad cable connection inside kindle
This seems most like the power key is tripped and haven't back to it's own place. Try to push the button let it rebound back. Else if there is a problem about the system, please try to use Restore Factory Settings to fix it, If anything can help you, I'm very pleased.
Sounds like your battery is just too dead, has enough juice to light up the system for a minute but cranking drains it and if it wont charge then deff fried, you could try removing the battery and starting the car with cables to confirm the starter still works. If a bettery is too dead then when you are jumping it, it takes to much of the power just trying to get through the battery.
Make sure battery has a full charge. Use a digital multimeter across battery posts, everything off, what is the reading? The generic spec for a full charge is around 12.6 volts. Note the reading. Leave the leads touching the battery posts, have helper turn key to crank, how much does the reading drop? Usually it shouldn't drop below 9.6 volts or there about. If it drops to zero, try charging the battery. Check battery cables. Did you try jumper cables to see if it would crank?
if u unplug your battery for acouple hours it will reset youre ecu/cpu. (everything) does it turn over? or absolutly nothing? if nothing sometimes ur battery loses so many electrolytes it can't retain a charge therefore jumping won't help. new battery first step! local junkyards probably have a good battery for $20. Let me know if this helps.
It takes a lot more power to transmit than it does to receive. So it is possible to listen but not be able to talk. Make sure that the batteries are charged and that the batteries are holding a charge. When batteries begin to fail they won't hold a charge for long at all.
It should be fine to call when the phone is charging. It could be that the phone was "sleeping" as it charged and then the sudden energy draw of the phone call while it was charging screwed up the battery. I think you should take it to the shop.
