play will not turn on. Lights up momentarily then goes off. Changing battery doesn't help.

U can try to insert your drive to other usb port of your computer or you can also try to use other computer to see if it works with it. if this doesnt solve your problem maybe your drive is defective and if its brand new it has a factory defect.

Won't Work suddenly.

What is happening when you turn the device on? Does it go on and then shut off? If so you will have to reformat the drive for the mp3 player. Simply plug the mp3 player in and click the drive that appears for the player. It should say this device needs to be formatted. Then just follow the steps. Keep in mind you will lost your songs. If the device stays on, do you see your first song on the list. If you do, try pushing the play button, (very last one on bottom) hard.

White Screen of Doom

have you tried unscrewing the back, the removing the battery. one thing that i did was i held the button down, it seems like it is not restarting, but if you hold it down for atleast 2 min, then it will actually restart, otherwise remove the battery, its just like a cell phone battery, just pluck it out

It died

The same thing happened to me and i had no idea what to do. I tried e-mailing the creative headquarters but they wouldnt give me any advice. Finally i realized that there is a reset button on the botom of the player that i never noticed before. If you hold in the play/pause button, hit the reset button, and then release then play/pause button it should take you to a screen where it gives you options on what to do with your player. What i did was reboot it and nothing happened. Whatever you do, DO NOT hit format, or else you will lose all of your picture and music files. I got really frustrated with this problem so glad i could help out.

PLEASE HELP!!

Samsa M240 MP3 player tcnand0 On the MP3 player, go to Settings. Scroll down to USB. Set to MSC. (Not AutoDetect!) Background: MicroSoft has developed a new protocol for MP3 players and subscription services. If your M240 is set to AutoDetect under USB, then the transfer of files gets wonky. Changing the USB setting to MSC overrides the new MS protocol and forces Windows to recognize your MP3 player as a standard file directory.
